Quinnipiac Names 167 Student-Athletes to the 2013-14 MAAC Academic Honor Roll

EDISON, N.J. – Quinnipiac University landed a total of 167 student-athletes onto the 2013-14 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Academic Honor Roll, which was released by the league office on July 15, 2014. The Bobcats tied with Monmouth University for fourth place among teams in the conference.

“We are once again very proud of the academic success of our MAAC student-athletes,” said Director of Athletics and Recreation Jack McDonald. “The entire campus is very pleased with the academic and athletic success of our Bobcats in our inaugural year in the MAAC, and we look forward to more achievements in 2014-15.”

To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The Honor Roll is open to both full-time and associate members in the MAAC. All 25 sports that the conference sponsors are represented.

The Red Foxes of Marist led the list of honored student-athletes with 235, followed by Fairfield University with 190 and Iona College with 168. QU and Monmouth each had 167 student-athletes named to the Honor Roll, followed by Canisius College (163), Rider University (151), Siena College (147), Manhattan College (139), Niagara University (123) and Saint Peter’s University (104). Among the associate members, former NEC rival Robert Morris University, which competes in field hockey and women's rowing, has the most with 49 student-athletes.
