Quinnipiac men's basketball senior forward Ousmane Drame (Boston, Mass.) was named Quinnipiac's February Male Athlete of the Month.
Ousmane Drame was the best player in February for the Bobcats, averaging a double-double through eight games. His numbers, 14.6 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game, were among the conference leaders and the best on Quinnipiac’s team. He shot nearly 45.0 percent from the floor and 82.5 percent from the free-throw line, scoring 20 points twice in the month. He had 20 points and nine rebounds at Rider on Feb. 19, and followed that game with 20 points and seven rebounds against Canisius on Feb. 21. Drame added 13 assists and five steals as well.
Drame’s storied career already has him in contention with the best post players to don Quinnipiac’s uniform. He has 1,334 career points, 1,085 rebounds and 215 blocks – serving as Quinnipiac’s Division I leader in rebounds and blocked shots. Drame ranks 18th all-time in scoring at Quinnipiac and ninth in the Division I era.
