Friday’s Non-Conference Men’s and Women’s Tennis Doubleheader Postponed

HAMDEN, Conn. – The non-conference men’s and women’s tennis match between Quinnipiac University and Sacred Heart University that was scheduled to be played at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts on Friday, April 4 has been postponed due to rain in the forecast. The women’s tennis match will now take place on Sunday, April 6 at 3 p.m. while the men’s match has been rescheduled to Monday, April 14 at 3 p.m.

Both teams are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, April 4, 2014, against Saint Peter’s University. First serve is set for 12 p.m. at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts.

The Quinnipiac women’s tennis team is coming off a 7-0 win at Siena (3/29) and a hard-fought 5-2 loss against UMass – which took place on Wednesday. The Bobcats have showed extremely consistency in doubles, compiling a .693 winning percentage this year. In singles, Sophia Dzulynsky (Miramar, Fla.), Kelsi Oliphant (Calgary, Alberta) and Jacqueline Raynor (Garden City, N.Y.) each have 10 wins this season. Dzulynsky and Oliphant lead the way with 11 apiece.

On the men’s side, weather has prevented the Bobcats from competing for two weeks straight now. Led by Eric Ambrosio (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) and Kei Ezaka (Ojai, Calif.), the Bobcats (5-7) look to bounce back after falling to Bryant in their most recent match. Ambrosio boasts a team-best 20-5 record at singles, while Ezaka has accumulated a 15-9 mark as the team's ace. Quinnipiac has a .500 winning percentage in doubles during its dual matches this year.
