Sarah Allen, Women's Lacrosse
Quinnipiac women's lacrosse senior Sarah Allen has been named Quinnipiac’s April Female Athlete of the Month.
Allen, an All-Northeast Conference First Team selection this year, had a tremendous April helping the Bobcats to a 4-2 record and nearly propelling them into the NEC Tournament. Allen scored 13 goals and dished out 19 assists in six games, which featured three outings with at least seven points. Her month was highlighted by nine-point effort against LIU Brooklyn where she netted four goals and handed out five assists. She also combined for 15 points in the home weekend finale as the Bobcats defeated Robert Morris and Saint Francis University at the QU Lacrosse Turf Field.
Allen finished the season with 23 goals and 41 assists which placed her atop the NEC in assists per game for the second straight season. Allen finished second in the league in points per game, only trailing fellow teammate Kyra Ochwat in the category. Perhaps the most decorated career in program history, Allen leaves Quinnipiac with her name sitting atop the record book in two main categories. In the team’s first game of the season against Yale, Allen handed out two helpers to become the program’s all-time leader in assists. Later in the year against Wagner, Allen tallied four points and became Quinnipiac’s all-time leader in points, surpassing Katie Latonick’s mark of 175. She finished her career with 195 points on 151 assists and 44 goals.
