Chelsea Laden, Women's Ice Hockey

Bobcats' women's ice hockey senior goaltender Chelsea Laden (Lakeville, Minn.) was named the Quinnipiac November Female Athlete of the Month, which was announced on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014.

For the second consecutive month, Chelsea Laden posted some of the best numbers in not only ECAC Hockey, but the entire country. Laden has yet to lose a game the entire season, as she went 7-0-1 between the pipes in the month of November to extend her personal best unbeaten streak to 14 games and the team unbeaten streak to 15 games. In eight games, Laden allowed just six goals all month for a goal against average of 0.74. Laden also began to rack up some saves as she recorded 128 saves on 134 shots, good for a .955 save percentage.

Not only were her numbers good, but Laden also recorded three wins against ranked teams, including a shutout at Cornell on Nov. 1 which was the first shutout victory at Cornell for any goaltender since Nov. 15, 2006. Laden also shutout nationally ranked No. 5 Clarkson on Nov. 21 in a 1-0 win. She was named the Nutmeg Classic Most Valuable Goaltender thanks to a 40 save weekend, including 24 in a 3-1 victory over No. 5 Clarkson, their second win over the Golden Knights in an eight game span. Laden was named the ECAC Hockey Women’s Goaltender of the Week on Nov. 25.
