Quinnipiac field hockey senior Jess Rusin (Garwood, N.J.) was named the Quinnipiac Athlete of the Month for October.
Rusin led Quinnipiac with seven goals and three assists for the month of October on her way to the Quinnipiac program record for goals and points scored. Rusin broke the goals scored record with the 32nd marker of her career in a 3-0 win against Robert Morris on Oct. 18. She would go on to break the career points record in her next outing. For the year, she has scored a program single-season record 15 goals to go along with five assists for 35 points, also a single-season record.
Rusin scored in each game she played, while also picking up assists in wins against Yale, Brown and Sacred Heart to start the month. She scored twice against Robert Morris before finishing with goals against Rider and Monmouth to give her a six game point-streak for the month.
