Entering her first year as athletic trainer, Catherine Ellis brings a wealth of experience to the Quinnipiac athletic training staff. She comes to Hamden from Murray State University where she completed a seven-year stint with the Racers. With the Bobcats, her primary sports are men’s soccer in the fall and softball in the spring.
While at Murray State, she served as the athletic trainer for women’s basketball and men’s and women’s tennis. Along with her athletic training responsibilities, she oversaw the hiring of graduate assistants, and worked with them on a daily basis.
In 2003, Ellis was a graduate assistant at Central Michigan University working towards a master’s in exercise science. She worked with the field hockey, softball and indoor and outdoor track and field teams, handling all athletic training duties pertaining to her sports. She also taught a class within the Physical Education Department.
Ellis has certifications with NATABOC, American Red Cross and the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BS in athletic training in 2003, and completed her master’s in 2005.
