In 2010, Quinnipiac University Director of Athletics Jack McDonald announced the promotion of Ken Sweeten to Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information. Sweeten is beginning his seventh year with the Bobcats in 2012-13. Sweeten was originally hired as the assistant sports information director in November of 2006 before being promoted to Sports Information Director in 2007-08. In his current role, Sweeten coordinates the publicity and media relations efforts for all of Quinnipiac's 21 sports in addition to his managing all content on the Official Website of Quinnipiac Athletics, www.QuinnipiacBobcats.com.

Sweeten's responsibilities include his role as the primary contact for the nationally-ranked men's ice hockey program, as well as the field hockey, baseball and women's golf teams. He also oversees a full-time assistant sports information director, and two graduate assistants, in addition to several federal work study employees. Since arriving at Quinnipiac, Sweeten has played a pivotal role in the expansion of all publications within the athletic department, as well as the development of the Bobcats' website. In 2011, Sweeten coordinated all efforts between Quinnipiac and PrestoSports to launch the most recent version of QuinnipiacBobcats.com. In 2012, received credit as the associate producer for the Emmy-nominated "Bobcats Unleashed in HD."

Among his accomplishments since arriving at Quinnipiac, Sweeten spearheaded a national campaign that saw men's ice hockey captain Jean-Marc Beaudoin become the first Quinnipiac student-athlete to finish among the finalists for the prestigious Lowe's SENIOR Class Award. Sweeten has also developed promotional items for the Hobey Baker Award for Brandon Wong and Eric Lampe in 2009-10, Bryan Leitch in 2008-09 and Jamie Bates in 2007-08. Sweeten has also helped with the presentation of live statistics for all sports, while also working with Quinnipiac's extensive student media population to audiostream a majority of the Bobcats' home events.

In February 2010, Sweeten coordinated all press box operations for the Team USA Women's Ice Hockey game against the ECAC Hockey All-Stars at the TD Bank Sports Center. He also helped coordinate all media relations and television game-day operations for the 2009-10 Northeast Conference Men's Basketball Championship Game at the TD Bank Sports Center, which was seen live on ESPN2, nationwide. In 2009, Sweeten successfully presented a national audience with a pair of highlight-reel plays by baseball standout Bryan Monack that resulted in the Top Play on ESPN's SportsCenter. Sweeten also coordinated an appearance by Monack on the highly-successful ESPN First Take studio show. 

In addition to his work at Quinnipiac, Sweeten is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and the Greater New Haven Baseball Umpires Association (GNHBUA). Sweeten also serves on the selection committee for the March of Dimes Elm City Legends, a yearly event that recognizes New Haven area sports figures who have excelled on the playing field and in the community. In December of 2010, Sweeten was selected to serve on the Board of Managers for the Greater New Haven YMCA Youth Center, and was also selected as the board's recording secretary. In 2012, he was added to the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce's Sports Council. 

Sweeten has played an integral part in benefits for St. Baldrick's children's cancer research, Autism Speaks, and the Susan G. Komen Fund for breast cancer awareness. Sweeten served as one of Quinnipiac's athletic administrators on several visits to area hospitals including Yale New Haven's Smilow Center and Hartford Hospital.

Before coming to Quinnipiac, Sweeten served as the Director of Athletic Media Relations/Sports Information at Pace University in Pleasantville, N.Y. Prior to that, he held the position of Sports Information Assistant at Southern Connecticut State University. He also served as the assistant for athlete development with the Nutmeg State Games.

In addition to his work with Quinnipiac's student-athletes, Sweeten has played a leadership role in the development of several successful sports information professionals. Former assistants, graduate assistants, interns and student workers for Sweeten have gone on to work for the New England Patriots (National Football League), Pennsylvania State University (Big Ten), Monmouth University (Northeast Conference), Wagner College (Northeast Conference), Dartmouth College (Ivy League), NESN.com, University of Central Florida (Conference USA), Concordia (Texas) University, Southern Connecticut State University (NE-10), Yale University (Ivy League), the University of Connecticut (BIG EAST), Lafayette University (Patriot League), University of Maryland (ACC), Seton Hall University (BIG EAST), Iowa State University (Big 12), Boston University (America East), the University of Albany (American East), United States Merchant Marine Academy (Landmark), Franklin Pierce University (NE-10 Conference), Pace University (NE-10), Brooklyn College (CUNYAC), the Bridgeport Blue Fish (Atlantic League), the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL), the Newark Bears (Atlantic League), the Connecticut Tigers (New York-Penn League) and USA Hockey in addition to the Connecticut Post and the Los Angeles Times.

Sweeten graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in sport management with a concentration in marketing and promotions. He currently resides in Hamden, Conn.
