Quinnipiac University men’s ice hockey co-captain Matthew Peca (Petawawa, Ontario) has signed a professional contract with the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Tampa Bay Lightning, as announced by vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman on Apr. 1, 2015.

The Quinnipiac University women’s rugby team will take on the Harvard Crimson this Saturday in an effort to promote The Austin Hill Project. The Bobcats will honor Austin Hill prior to taking the field for two rugby 7’s games, starting at 12 p.m. on the QU Rugby Field in Hamden, Connecticut.

Tricia Fabbri Included Amongst 2015 WBCA Victory Club Honoree List
Quinnipiac women's basketball head coach Tricia Fabbri was once of the coaches honored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) as a 2015 WBCA Victory Club Award recipient. Coach Fabbri earns the honor in respect of her 300th career victory earned on Dec. 7, 2014 playing against her alma mater Fairfield.

QU Women's Lacrosse Hosts Monmouth on Wednesday in 2015 MAAC Home Opener
The Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team returns home for the first time since March 6 with a Wednesday showdown against Monmouth from the QU Lacrosse Turf Field. After a six-game road swing, the Bobcats are eager to return home and defend the home turf in what will also be the 2015 MAAC home opener for Quinnipiac. First draw is set for 3:00 p.m.

QU Men's Tennis Hosts Sacred Heart Wednesday, Fairfield Thursday in Two Match Homestand
The Quinnipiac men’s tennis team added an extra home game to the 2014-15 calendar as the Bobcats match against the Sacred Heart Pioneers has been changed from Sacred Heart to Quinnipiac for Wednesday, April 1 at 3:30 P.M. The following day, the Bobcats will play their second match in as many days against the Fairfield Stags at 2:00 P.M.

QU Men’s Lacrosse Defeated by Stony Brook in Midweek Clash, 17-9
Brian Feldman (Canandaigua, N.Y.) scored a career high five goals and Jack Brust (Baltimore, Md.) had 13 saves on Tuesday night, but the Quinnipiac men’s lacrosse team suffered a 17-9 setback in a midweek clash with Stony Brook at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.

QU Women's Golf's Nicole Scola Paces Bobcats At Hoya Classic
The Quinnipiac women’s golf team completed the final round of the Hoya Invitational in 8th place out of 13 teams competing at Four Streams Country Club in Beallsville, Maryland. Sophomore Nicole Scola (Westerly, Rhode Island) was the Bobcats’ top finisher, shooting a 239 (+12) for a tie of 12th place.

The Quinnipiac women’s tennis team took a 1-0 lead after sweeping doubles against the Fairfield Stags before the match had to be postponed due to wet courts from the rain. The match will be completed with singles play on Thursday, April 2 beginning at 2 P.M. in conjunction with the men’s tennis match, also against Fairfield.

QU Softball Schedule Changes; Bobcats Travel to Sacred Heart on Wednesday, Doubleheader against Holy Cross Thursday Postponed
The Quinnipiac University softball game against Sacred Heart on Wednesday afternoon will now be played in Fairfield, Connecticut. The game time will remain at 3:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart University. The Bobcats' doubleheader against Holy Cross that was scheduled for Thursday, April 2 has been postponed. No makeup date has been announced at this time.

QU Baseball Sweeps MAAC Doubleheader From Defending Conference Champs Siena With a Pair of 3-2 Victories
The Quinnipiac University baseball team executed the game plan perfectly as the Bobcats swept a doubleheader against the reigning MAAC Champions Siena, 3-2 and 3-2, at Fiondella Field on the campus of the University of Hartford. With the sweep, Quinnipiac improves to 7-15 overall and 4-2 in MAAC play while Siena drops to 4-13 overall while opening conference action at 1-2.

QU Acrobatics & Tumbling Takes First Place in Tri-Meet with Alderson Broaddus and King University
The Quinnipiac University acrobatics and tumbling team took first place in a tri-meet with King University and Alderson Broaddus on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats won five of the six events and finished with a total score of 269.830 while Alderson Broaddus tallied 264.875 for second place and King University recorded 246.490 points. With the win, Quinnipiac improves to 4-3 on the season while the Battlers fall to 5-4 and the Tornado drop to 3-5.

QU Men’s Lacrosse To Host Unite for HER Initiative at Saturday’s Home Game against Marist College
The Quinnipiac men's lacrosse team is working in conjunction with Unite for HER, a foundation founded by Susan Weldon - the mother of senior defenseman Evan Weldon - focused on supporting women diagnosed with breast cancer. On Saturday, March 28, when Quinnipiac plays host to Marist College, the team will sell T-Shirts and collect donations with all proceeds going directly to the Unite for HER foundation.

The Quinnipiac softball team has announced a slew of schedule changes for the weekend, as inclement weather has once again altered the team's plans. The doubleheaders scheduled for Thursday, March 26 against UMass-Lowell and for Sunday, March 29 against Maine have been postponed, and the doubleheader against Saint Peter's on Saturday, March 28 has been moved to Jaroschak Field in New Jersey at 11 a.m.

Despite leading for most of the game, the Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse game couldn’t close out the win as Central Connecticut State dispatched the Bobcats, 13-9, on Wednesday from Arute Field. The 2015 non-conference finale for Quinnipiac moves the Bobcats to 1-8 on the year while the Blue Devils improve to 3-6.

Quinnipiac University men's soccer coach Eric Da Costa has announced Chris Dattalo, a goalkeeper from Lindenhurst, New Jersey as the newest addition of the Bobcats’ 2015 class. As a junior, Dattalo recorded 139 saves through 16 games and ranked fifth among goalkeepers on Long Island.

Hannah Lindsley Named ECAC Division I New England Player of the Week
Quinnipiac University softball's Hannah Lindsley (Narrangansett, Rhode Island) picked up Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league's committee on Tuesday, March 24. This is Lindsley's first career ECAC Player of the Week honor. The senior was also named the MAAC Player of the Week after her offensive performace at the plate in the Liberty Classic over the weekend.

Quinnipiac University softball’s Hannah Lindsley (Narragansett, Rhode Island) was named the conference player of the week on Tuesday, Mar. 24 by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The senior led the Bobcat offense over the weekend at the Liberty Classic in Lynchburg, Virginia. The honor is the fourth of the season for Quinnipiac, they swept the awards after their first weekend of play at Charlotte’s First Pitch Classic.

The Quinnipiac University softball team took a six run lead, but were unable to hold off the North Carolina Central Eagles in the last inning. The Bobcats fell to NCCU, 13-10 in the final game of the Liberty Classic. Quinnipiac captured a season high 20 hits in the game, but finished the weekend 1-4 at the tournament.

The No. 12 seeded Quinnipiac University women's basketball team fell short in the opening round of the 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament to the No. 5 seed Oklahoma, , at Maples Pavilion on the campus of Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. With the loss, the Bobcats conclude their historic season with a 31-4 record, while the Sooners advance to the tournament's second round to face the winner of the later game between No. 4 Stanford and No. 13 Cal-State Northridge.

The Quinnipiac University softball team dropped two games on Saturday in the Liberty Classic. The Bobcats fell to Kent State, 12-3 in the first game before losing 4-1 to Liberty on ESPN3. QU falls to 1-3 at the tournament and are 4-17 overall this season. Senior Nikki Barba led the Bobcat offense, going 3-for-5 on the day including a home run and a triple.

The Bobcats fell in the first game to Saint Francis, 13-7 but bounced back to take down Toledo, 5-3. Lindsley was 5-for-8 on the day with three home runs and eight RBI while pitching a complete game and recording the win against the Rockets. Senior Nikki Barba (San Diego, California) finished the day 2-for-5 with three walks and five runs scored.

Nationally-ranked No.7 Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey featured five student-athletes on the 2015 All-ECAC Hockey teams. The Quinnipiac Women's Basketball team has been featured by multiple media outlets, both national and across the state of Connecticut, after the Bobcats were recently chosen as a No. 12 seed for the 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament on Monday, March 16. The Quinnipiac acrobatics and tumbling team took second place in a tri-meet between the Alderson Broaddus Battlers and Hawai’i Pacific Sharks on Tuesday night. After leading going into the final event, the Bobcats (2-3) were unable to hold on as the Sharks (2-1) came out victorious with an overall total of 275.590. QU finished with 274.700 points while the Battlers (2-2) totaled 256.710. Quinnipiac won the Toss and Tumbling Events outright to take the lead heading into the Team Event.

Shameal Samuels Places 3rd in 400m to Lead QU Women’s Indoor Track & Field at ECAC Championships
The sensational 2014-15 season for the Quinnipiac women’s indoor track and field team came to an end on Sunday at the ECAC Championships. Junior Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Connecticut) added another notch to her belt with a 3rd place finish in the 400m to cap off the most successful season for any Quinnipiac track and field athlete in program history. Samuels’ 3rd place result earned six points for the Bobcats in the team standings to give Quinnipiac 32nd place out of 46 teams in the regional event that attracts the top track and field programs throughout the East Coast.

The Bobcats Friday afternoon game against the Belmont Bruins has been postponed, forcing the start of the series to come on Saturday with a doubleheader scheduled for 11 A.M. EST (10 A.M. CST) against the Bradley Braves followed by a 3 P.M. EST (2 P.M. CST) game against the Bruins. The three teams will also have doubleheaders on Sunday, as the Bobcats will face the Braves again at 11 A.M. EST (10 A.M. CST) before a game off and will face the Bruins at 5 P.M. EST (4 P.M. CST).

The Quinnipiac women's basketball team became just the sixth team to complete a perfect MAAC regular season on Sunday afternoon, as the Bobcats improved to 20-0 with a 87-48 victory over Monmouth at the MAC. The Quinnipiac acrobatics and tumbling team fell to the Oregon Ducks, 274.315-264.065, on Sunday afternoon. With the result, the Bobcats dropped to 1-2 on the year while the Ducks improved to 3-0. Quinnipiac took one out of six events from Oregon, but trailed by less than one point heading into halftime. The Ducks have won the last four consecutive NCATA Championships.

Shameal Samuels Breaks 27-Year-Old Meet Record On Her Way to Capturing 400m New England Championship For Second Straight Year
Breaking records has become the norm for Quinnipiac women’s indoor track and field’s Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Connecticut) but among all her individual achievements, nothing comes close to her awe-inspiring performance at the 2015 New England Championships. After qualifying for the 400m finals with a blistering time of 54.01 seconds on Friday, Samuels saved plenty of gas in the tank to break a 27-year-old meet record on Saturday with an impeccable time of 53.72 seconds. Samuels’ jaw-dropping sprint to the finish line captured the 400m New England Championship for the second straight season as her effort led the Bobcats to an 11th place result (out of 25 teams) at the Boston Univ. Track Center.

Quinnipiac field hockey head coach Becca Main has announced the signing of five players to National Letters of Intent set to join the Bobcats for the 2015 season. The incoming class includes: Rachel Foley (Davis, California), Kyla Johns (Darien, Connecticut), Kendall Nickel (Flemington, New Jersey), Selina Reichert (Lower Hutt, New Zealand) and Hannah Teicher (Bethesda, Maryland). The Quinnipiac women's basketball team earned the No. 7 ranking in the most recent College Insider Mid-Major Poll, announced on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 by coaches on the select committee, tying the highest ranking in program history for the second straight week. The only other time the Bobcats received the No. 7 ranking was on April 11, 2013, which was the final mid-major poll to end the 2012-13 season. The Quinnipiac University acrobatics & tumbling team finished 8.815 points behind first-place Baylor in their season opener on Saturday evening at the Ferrell Center. In front of a Baylor Bears’ record crowd of 1,453, the Bobcats took second-place with a final score of 253.59. The Bears finished with a winning score of 262.405 to start the season at 2-0 on the year. Concordia University Wisconsin began their first season in the National Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) with a third-place score of 212.34.

The Quinnipiac women’s basketball team made a glamorous return to the TD Bank Sports Center as the Bobcats dominated both stanzas and came away with the 96-54 victory over Rider on Saturday afternoon. In all, nine different Bobcats scored at least six points while three reached new career-highs offensively as Quinnipiac put forth an offensive clinic against a stingy Rider defense. The victory is the Bobcats’ 10 straight and 16th in the last 17 games as QU improves to 20-3 (12-0 MAAC) while the Broncs drop to 7-16 (4-9 MAAC).

QU Men’s Basketball Winning Streak Halted at Canisius, 63-57
Quinnipiac’s three-game winning streak came to a close on Friday night, as the Bobcats fell short to Canisius College, 63-57, at the Koessler Athletic Center in Buffalo. Winners in five of its last six entering the night, Quinnipiac met a tough-minded defense that held the visitors to just 33.3 percent shooting in the game. Coupled with 14 turnovers and just two three-point field goals, Canisius scored just enough to hold off Quinnipiac’s late charge to escape with the MAAC triumph.

Right from the opening tip, it was evident the Quinnipiac women’s basketball team came to play on Sunday. Having to overcome a three hour delay due to last night’s ice storm across the Northeast, the Bobcats showed no ill effects as Quinnipiac rode an explosive first half to the 85-51 victory over Manhattan. The visiting Quinnipiac women’s basketball team faced some stiff competition throughout but the Bobcats proved their mettle and pulled out a 69-67 victory in the 22nd annual Hawk Classic over the host Saint Joseph’s on Sunday. Quinnipiac’s (10-2, 2-0 MAAC) resume continues to improve as the Bobcats’ victory is their seventh straight and also represents the fourth 2014 NCAA Tournament team the Bobcats have taken down this season. After a long-awaited offseason, the Quinnipiac women’s indoor track and field team flashed all sorts of talent in breaking four program records at the Yale Season Opener on Saturday from the Coxe Cage in New Haven. Head coach Carolyn Martin’s influx of gifted underclassmen were on full display as three freshmen each tallied program records while the Bobcats’ junior standout Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) busted out with a record-breaking 60m dash.

The Quinnipiac Bobcats will kick off the 2014 MAAC Volleyball Tournament on Thurs. Jenn Whaley To Serve As QU Women's Golf Captain For Second Straight Season
Quinnipiac women’s golf head coach John O’Connor has announced that junior Jenn Whaley (Avon, Connecticut) has been selected as the team’s captain for the second consecutive year. Whaley also served as the Bobcats’ captain as a sophomore in 2013-14.

Zaid Hearst Collects First 2014-15 MAAC Player of the Week Award
Zaid Hearst (Bethesda, Md.) of the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team was named MAAC Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday, Nov. 17, 2014. The first award comes after a tremendous performance in the first game of the season at the Connecticut 6 Classic.

QU Women’s Ice Hockey Ranked No. 4 in USCHO.com Poll, Highest Ranking in Program History
The Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey team garnered its highest ranking in program history as it was ranked No. 4 in the latest USCHO.com Women’s Division I Poll. The Bobcats also received 106 points in the poll which is the most points Quinnipiac has ever received in the poll.

The Quinnipiac university men's ice hockey team were on the move for the second straight week, jumping six spots to the No. 14 ranking in the USCHO.com Division I poll, as announced on Monday, Nov. 17.

QU Women's Volleyball Drops Senior Day Game to Niagara, 3-1
Despite a great effort, the Quinnipiac Bobcats comeback fell short today against the Niagara Purple Eagles as the Bobcats dropped their season finale by the score of 3-1. After dropping the first two sets to Niagara by the scores of 25-23 and 25-18, the Bobcats fought back in the third set besting the Purple Eagles 26-24. Despite the great comeback by Quinnipiac, they ultimately fell short dropping the fourth and final set 25-19.

QU Women's Rugby Takes Down Brown 46-20 To Advance To ACRA National Semifinal Against Penn. State
The Quinnipiac University women’s rugby team advanced to the ACRA National Semifinals on Sunday afternoon with a 46-20 win over the Brown Bears. Freshman Rebecca Haight (Oconomowoc, Wisconsin) led QU with two tries for 10 points. The Bobcats will take on the number one seeded Penn. State Nittany Lions in Palm Coast, Florida for the semifinal on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Indian Trails Sports Complex.

Travis St. Denis (Trail, British Columbia) was the hero for the second night in a row as he notched his first career hat trick for the No. 20 Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey team in its 3-1 win over the Rensselaer Engineers Saturday night at Houston Field House.

No. 5 QU Women's Ice Hockey's Erica Uden Johansson Has Three-Point Night In 5-0 Win Against Union
Nationally ranked No. 5 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey blanked Union, 5-0, in an ECAC Hockey match-up at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn. The Bobcats remaing undefeated a 9-0-1 with a 4-0-0 ECAC Hockey mark. Union drops to 1-10-2 overall and 0-4-0 in league play.

QU Women's Basketball Downs Reigning Patriot League Champs Army, 79-64, in 2014-15 Season Opener
If the result of Saturday’s game is any indication, big plans are in store for the Quinnipiac women’s basketball team in the 2014-15 campaign. Facing the reigning Patriot League champs Army, the Bobcats dominated the Black Knights with a 79-64 victory at home to kickoff the new season.

QU Women's Lacrosse Visits Students at Helen Street School
The Quinnipiac University women’s lacrosse team visited elementary-aged students at Helen Street School on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 and joined in their Thanksgiving-themed activities for the day. The Bobcats visited the classrooms of Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse alums Laura Iannotti ’11 and Lexi DeStefano ’11, who both team at the local school in Hamden.

QU Women's Volleyball Battles Niagara on Senior Day, Sunday at 1 P.M.
This weekend the Quinnipiac Bobcats play their final games of the 2014 regular season at Burt Kahn Court. On Saturday Nov. 15 the Bobcats will kick off the final homestead with the first match against the Canisius College Golden Griffins at 1 p.m. Sunday Nov. 16 will be a special day for the Quinnipiac Bobcats as they will honor the members of the class of 2015 for Senior Day against the Niagara University Purple Eagles. The game starts at 1 p.m. and will pay tribute to the three seniors on the team: Brittanie Robinson, Tanner Celestin, and Tierra Allen.
