After serving as an Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Support for the previous six years, Richardson was promoted to Associate Athletic Director in 2011.
She spent the past four years as Assistant Director for Athletic Student Services and Champs/Life Skills Coordinator at the University of Minnesota.
At Quinnipiac, she will work closely with nearly 400 student-athletes, monitoring the academic records and eligibility. Richardson will also oversee academic programming and support services, including the CHAMPS/Life Skills program and the Positive Play Cup.
Richardson was an integral member of the Golden Gophers staff and handled a variety of responsibilities in her previous role. Some of these duties included: determining goals, providing direction and budget for the Student Services unit, serving as coordinator and organizer for the `First-Year Experience' program, academic advisement, producing and implementing community outreach programs and educational training sessions, introducing career development programs and directing the post-eligibility completion programs.
Prior to her time in the Twin Cities, Richardson spent time at Iowa State University and the University of Iowa.
From 1999-2001, she served as Enrollment Specialist/Senior Admissions Counselor at Iowa State University. In that role, she was responsible for representing and promoting the university to prospective students, supervised graduate assistants and student workers and developed, edited and published a newsletter for prospective students - all while managing a territory of 10 states.
Richardson spent the 1998-99 academic year as an Assistant Hall Manager at the University of Iowa, where she administered a residence hall of nearly 1,000 students. She also has previous experience as an Academic Counselor in the Hawkeyes Athletic Department.
Richardson holds two degrees from the University of Iowa. She earned a BA in Liberal Studies in 1996 and completed advanced studies with a MA in Higher Education in 2000.
