Quinnipiac's University Club at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center was the site of the 2011 Men's and Women's Ice Hockey Media Reception on Monday, Oct. 3. Quinnipiac head coaches Rand Pecknold and Rick Seeley addressed the media and spoke to Bobcat fans about the upcoming season.
The reception was emceed by AM 1220 WQUN personality and play-by-play announcer Bill Schweizer while guests were greeted by Director of Athletics & Recreation Jack McDonald. Several members of the media were in attendance to partake in the Q&A session with Pecknold and Seeley, while men's ice hockey seniors Scott Zurevinski, Dan Clarke and Jake Whiting, as well as women's ice hockey seniors Jordan Elkins, Bethany Dymarczyk, Melissa Perry, Kate Wheeler and Chelsea Illchuk were also in attendance to field questions.
Guests were also able to pick the 2011-12 Men's and Women's Ice Hockey Media Guides and were then treated to a buffet dinner at the University Club. The event was the first in a two-part program that will also feature a Men's and Women's Basketball Media Reception, featuring head coaches Tricia Fabbri and Tom Moore, on Nov. 7 at 7 p.m.
The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team opens up at home this weekend when it hosts Maine for a two-game series on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. Live video is available at www.QuinnipiacBobcats.tv while live audio and statistics can be found at www.QuinnipiacBobcats.com.
