Bobcats Unleashed In HD Receives Third Straight Emmy Nomination
The widely-popular, Quinnipiac University produced athletic highlight show "Bobcats Unleashed in HD" has been nominated for a Boston/New England Emmy Award in the category of “Outstanding Sports One Time Special” for the third consecutive year. The 36th Boston/New England Emmy Awards Ceremony will be presented on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place.
The episode, which aired in February 2012, features the amazing story of men's basketball player Marquis Barnett and his journey to Quinnipiac University. In addition, the feature show also highlights the career of former Quinnipiac women's ice hockey captain Jordan Elkins and her plans after her playing days came to an end.
"Bobcats Unleashed In HD" is hosted by Billy Mecca, Bill Schweizer and Jayme Parker. The half-hour long Quinnipiac feature show was produced and directed by Peter Sumby, written by Mecca and Schweizer and crewed by School of Communications students Tom Frisina, Rob Gagne, Austin Hopkins, Ryan Meunier, Josh Lavallee, Matt Pereira, Kyle Gravitte, Chelsea Adamchak, Orrin Creighton, Eliza Dox, Alyssa Meyer, Ryan O’Grady, Sam Snow-Cronin, Amy Gardner, John Houston, Jessica Lehman, Sarah Violette, Jeff Abrahams, Mike Prado, Lisa Copland, Jacob Brichta, Christina Casinelli, and Sunny Nariyani, as well as several industry professionals. The show was shot and edited in high-definition at the Ed McMahon Mass Communications Center and aired on the NESN High Definition channel.
