ESPN3 Will Carry Five Games This Weekend, Beginning With No. 3 Men’s Ice Hockey Tilt Against No. 14 Clarkson on Friday, Feb. 7
HAMDEN, Conn. -Director of Athletics & Recreation Jack McDonald has announced an agreement to deliver Quinnipiac athletic events live on ESPN3. Quinnipiac and ESPN3 will produce the first game of its schedule on Friday, Feb. 7 when the nationally-ranked No. 3 men’s ice hockey team hosts No. 14 Clarkson.
In addition to Friday night’s game, ESPN3 will also carry the Bobcats’ ECAC Hockey match-up against St. Lawrence at 7 p.m. Quinnipiac and ESPN3 will also produce the men’s basketball team’s games against MAAC foes Rider on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. and Marist on Monday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. Women’s basketball will also be featured on Sunday, Feb. 9 when they host Canisius at 1 p.m.
"The MAAC is engaged in an on-going dialogue with ESPN to extend its agreement to deliver conference games that are produced by its member schools on ESPN3," notes MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. "The program that Quinnipiac is launching with this added coverage is the next step in this process. It is exciting to see the growth of the valued relationship with ESPN and the MAAC. The league appreciates Quinnipiac's efforts to develop these productions and expects to see other MAAC schools follow their lead in the near future."
Quinnipiac will also be featured twice more as part of the MAAC agreement with ESPN3. The twin-bill from the TD Bank Sports Center on Thursday, Feb. 27 will feature the women’s basketball team hosting Iona at 6 p.m. following by the men’s basketball team against Siena at 8;30 p.m. In addition to this weekend’s games, Quinnipiac and ESPN3 will continue to work towards streaming all of Quinnipiac’s men’s and women’s ice hockey and basketball games at the Bobcats’ home venues.
