Led the team in wins (8), innings pitched (78.2) and games started (11) for the second straight season...named to New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association All-New England Division I All-Star... won six out of his final seven appearances on the year...In 78.2 innings pitched he scattered 72 hits as opposing teams hit just .238 against him, good for third in the conference... also struck out 44 batters while walking just 15 and holding opposing teams to 28 earned runs...In his only relief appearance of the year, he held Bethune-Cookman scoreless on four hits over the final seven innings of the game...held Stony Brook to one run on four hits while striking out three in a complete game win on Mar. 24.

As a freshman:
Led the team in wins (6), innings pitched (72.1) and games started (12)...2nd in strikeouts (38)...won three straight decisions from Mar. 19 to Apr. 10...allowed one run on five hits over seven innings against Fairleigh Dickinson on Mar. 26...Had six strikeouts over seven innings against Mount St. Mary[apos]s on Apr. 2...Allowed one run while scattering seven hits over nine innings against Sacred Heart on Apr. 10...held Long Island scoreless over five innings while allowing three hits on Apr. 24.

Before Quinnipiac:
Was a four-year captain and letterwinner of his Trumbull H.S. team...was a three-time All-FCIAC selection and a three-time All-State selection...as a senior he played in the Conn./Mass. All-Star game at historic Fenway Park...was also named the MVP at the District 2 All-Star game...his Trumbull H.S. team won the FCIAC Championship as a senior in 2005.

Born in Bridgeport, Conn...son of Barbara and Paul Mayer...has an older sister Sara and an older brother Paul...a business major.
