The Quinnipiac University baseball team will take on nationally ranked No. 2 University of Georgia in the second game of a three-game series in Athens, Ga. on Saturday, Mar. 7 at 3 p.m. The Bulldogs took the first game of the series, 7-0, on Friday night behind a strong pitching performance by Trevor Holder, who left the game with a no-hitter intact. Quinnipiac managed to squeeze out a pair of hits in their final at-bats as Ben Farina (Waterford, Conn.) and Mickey Amanti (Waterford, Conn.) both slapped singles.

On the hill, Chris Gloor (Bay Shore, N.Y.) allowed four runs – three earned – on five hits while striking out seven and walking two over five innings pitched. The big southpaw retired 10 straight Georgia batters after allowing a run in the top of the 1st. Gloor also gave up a two-run homerun in the bottom of the 5th. Joe Duffy (Commack, N.Y.) and John Simone (Setauket, N.Y.) both spun scoreless innings in relief.
