Former Quinnipiac baseball standout Pat Egan was a recent subject
of a feature story on MiLB.com. Egan has progressed through the
minor league ranks of the Baltimore Orioles organization after they
took the right-handed pitcher from Rocky Hill, Conn. in the 36th
round of the 2006 draft. This season, Egan posted a 6-1 record with
a 2.12 earned-run average with the DelMarva ShoreBirds of the
Eastern League, the Double A affiliate of the Orioles, before he
was called-up to Triple A Norfolk. Due to his success this season,
Egan was invited to play for the Scottsdale Scorpions of the
Arizona Fall League. Egan ranked 11th in ERA in the league at 2.53
over 10 2/3 innings pitched.
