Baseball Falls To Yale, 14-0
The Quinnipiac University baseball team lost to Yale University,. 14-0, in a non-conference match-up at Yale Field in New Haven, Conn. Quinnipiac drops to 11-7 on the year while Yale improves to 10-8. Ben Farina (Waterford, Conn.) was 2-for-3 for the afternoon.
Farina's career total now improves to 203, leaving him eight hits behing Wilson Matos '07 for third place all-time at Quinnipiac. Mickey Amanti (Waterford, Conn.) continued his hot-streak with a hit to lead off the game. Chris Migani (Orange, Conn.) and Gabe Guerino (Milford, Conn.) also collected hits in the loss.
Spencer Kane (Wolcott, Conn.) took the loss for the Bobcats to drop to 0-2 on the season. Kane gave up three runs - two earned - on five hits over the games' first three innings. Neil Mammele (Madison, Conn.) and Nick Fabrizio (Peabody, Conn.) covered the next two innings on the mound, each giving up three runs. Kevin Castodio (Pawcatuck, Conn.) held Yale scoreless in his one inning of work. Ryan Walsh (Stamford, Conn.) was hit for three runs in an inning pitched while Matthew Siciliano (Ardmore, Pa.) allowed two runs while striking out two in 2/3 of an inning pitched.
Quinnipiac is back in action this weekend when it hosts Sacred Heart University for a four-game set at the Quinnipiac Baseball Field in Hamden, Conn.
