Scouting the No. 8 North Carolina State Wolfpack
NC State is currently 12-4 overall and 1-2 in the ACC and ranked 8th nationally. NC State is also 9-3 at home and 3-0 at neutral sites.  Following a season-opening loss to Appalachian State on Feb. 15, 2013, NC State rattled off 10-straight wins through Feb. 3. Since then, the Wolfpack lost to Elon, 24-12, before rebounding with a 5-2 win against Campbell. They then lost the first two games of a three-game set against Clemson before taking the final game, 4-1. Trea Turner leads NCAA State with a .464 (26-56) average while also leading the team in hits (26), runs scored (26), triples (2), home runs (5) and RBI (18) while also posting a team-best .893 slugging percentage and a .522 on-base percentage. On the bases, he's 8-8 in stolen base attempts. Brett Williams (.345), Jake Fincher (.344), Bryan Adametz (.333), Sam Morgan (.327) and Tarran Senay (.310) have all played in a minuimum of 15 games and are all hitting above .300 early in the year. NC State has also accumulated 44 doubles with six players with five or more and have scored 129 runs in 16 games for a 8.1 per game average as four players have scored 13 or more runs. 

Scouting the Duke Blue Devils
Duke is currently 8-7 overall and have not won more than three games in a row this season. The Blue Devils are coming off a weekend that saw them split a two-game set against No. 24 Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. Mike Rosenfeld is currently hitting a team-high .408 (20-49) with a team-best seven doubles as well as a .592 slugging percentage and a .483 on-base percentage. Chris Marconcini is hitting .245 with just 12 hits in 15 games, but leads the Blue Devils in home runs (4), runs scored (12) and RBI (12) while slugging .551. Jordan Betts checks in with four home runs and 11 RBI. Matt Berezo (.353), Jeff Kremer (.308) and Andy Perez (.302) all check-in at .300 or better with Perez leading the team with seven stolen bases  as well as 12 runs scored. Kremer has a team-high 11 walks to go along with 11 runs scored.

Weekend Wrap-Up
Zak Palmer hit .667 (4-6) with two RBI and three runs scored in two games while Scott Donaghue hit .583 (7-12) with seven hits in three games as Quinnipiac won one of three games against Richmond, with the two losses coming by a run and the latter coming in 10 innings. Chris Migani had just two hits on the weekend and continues to find his groove after a year off, but scored four of Quinnipiac's 10 runs for the weekend. 

On The Hill
Nick Fabrizio improved to 2-0 on the season after holding Richmond to two runs in five innings pitched while scattering six hits. For the year, Fabrizio also carries a 3.46 ERA.

Earning His Keep
Senior hurler Derek Lamacchia took the hard luck loss in a 2-1 decision to Richmond on Saturday. Lamacchia gave up two unearned runs while striking out a season-high 10 batters in the loss. For the year, Lamacchia is 1-1 with a 0.00 ERA in 15 innings pitched. He also has 12 strikeouts to five walks while opposing batters are hitting at a .143 clip. 

We Like What We See So Far...
First-year Bobcat Gary Binkiewicz has gotten off to a great start to his Quinnipiac career. In two appearances, Binkiewicz has converted two save opportunities and has struck out three batters in five innings of work while giving up one run for a 1.80 ERA. Opposing batters are hitting .067 against the freshman hurler. 

Just Vin, Baby
Sophomore Vincent Guglietti currently leads Quinnipiac in average (.423), hits (11), slugging percentage (.500) and total bases (13) while also checking in with a .423 on-base percentage and three RBI in six games. Guglietti also has three multiple-hit games and has a hit in five of his last nine at-bats.
