Quinnipiac junior Vincent Guglietti (East Haven, Conn.) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Apr. 8.
Guglietti led Quinnipiac last week, batting .667 (6-9) with four RBI and six runs scored. The third-year Bobcat reached base in five trips against Dartmouth, posting a 4-for-4 day, including his first home run of the season as he drove in two runs and scored three more in the Bobcats win. In a 6-4 win against MAAC foe Niagara on Sunday, Apr. 6, Guglietti was 1-for-1 with three walks, three runs scored and an RBI.
For the year, Guglietti leads Quinnipiac in hits average (.326), hits (28), runs (17), doubles (7), RBI (16), slugging percentage (.465) and on-base percentage (.427). Guglietti also leads Quinnipiac with 28 hits in 26 games played. Incredibly, 16 of his 28 hits have come with two outs. The third-year Bobcat is hitting .471 (16-34) with two outs in the inning. In addition, nine of his team-best 16 RBI have also come with two outs.
