The Quinnipiac University's non-conference match-up against the University of Hartford, which was originally scheduled to play on Wednesday, Apr. 9 at 3 p.m. at the QU Baseball Field in Hamden, Conn., will instead be played at Fiondella Field in West Hartford, Conn. Subsequently, the Bobcats tilt against Hartford on Apr. 15, which was scheduled to be played on the Hawks' home field, will instead be played in Hamden.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
Hartford comes into this midweek match-up with a record of 16-10 and 5-1 in America East conference play. Brady Sheetz (.280 (26-93), two triples, five doubles, 11 RBI, and 17 RS) and Ryan Lukach (.274 (26-95), one triple, one homer, two doubles, 12 RBI, and 15 RS) lead the way offensively. Hartford has been dominant on the mound so far this season posting a 2.35 team ERA. Alex Gouin (1-1, 0.51, and 11 SO in 17 2/3 innings pitched) and top-50 MLB Draft prospect Sean Newcomb (3-1, 0.78, and 54 SO in 46 innings pitched) anchor the rotation for the Hawks.
LAST TIME OUT AGAINST NIAGARA
Quinnipiac has had a knack for scoring runs in the late innings and this continued in the series finale when junior Scott Donaghue (Marlboro, N.J.) lined a two run double in the top of the 9th that proved to be the difference in a 4-3 Quinnipiac win that clinched the series victory for the Bobcats helping them improve to 4-3 in MAAC play and 8-16 overall.

THE MAGIC NUMBER FOUR
The Bobcats are 6-3 in their last nine games and haven't lost a game over that stretch when scoring at least four runs.
Junior Vincent Guglietti (East Haven, Conn) leads Quinnipiac with 16 RBI this season and a .465 slugging percentage. Guglietti has seven hits and six RBI in his last six games.
DOING IT WITH TWO
Guglietti leads Quinnipiac with 28 hits in 26 games played. Incredibly, 16 of his 28 hits have come with two outs. The third-year Bobcat is hitting .471 (16-34) with two outs in the inning. In addition, nine of his team-best 16 RBI have also come with two outs.
Guglietti has also delivered timely hits through the first half of the season. The junior first baseman is hitting .448 (13-29) with runners in scoring position.
MOVE 'EM ALONG, LOU
Sophomore Lou Iannotti (North Haven, Conn.) has been the Bobcats' most successful hitter in advancing runners. In 41 at-bats with runners on base, Iannotti has moved a runner up a base for a team-best .634 average.
THREE TIMES A CHARM
Junior Rob Pescitelli (Bay Shore, N.Y.) currently leads the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference with three triples to date. Pescitelli also ranks 48th among all NCAA Division I baseball players in three-baggers.
STINGY WITH THE HITS
Freshman stand-out Justin Thomas ranks 56th among all NCAA Division I baseball pitchers in hits allowed (6.00) per nine innings pitched.
DONAGHUE DOING THE JOB
Junior Scott Donaghue (Marlboro, N.J.) has started to heat up at the plate and is starting to give Guglietti some much needed protection. Donaghue has five hits and six RBI in his last four games.
Junior Matthew Lorenzetti (Marlboro, N.J.) is looking for his first win of the season as he draws the start against Hartford. Lorenzetti has started two games on the season and is 0-1 with a 5.75 ERA in 20 1/3 innings pitched. Lorenzetti has pitched well recently throwing at least five innings and allowed three earned runs or less in two out of his last three appearances.

Quinnipiac will travel to New Rochelle, N.Y. this weekend to take on Iona in a three-game MAAC series starting on Saturday April 12th with a doubleheader at 12 and 3. The Series will conclude on Sunday April 13th at 1.
