HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University field hockey program had a strong showing at the 2009 Field Hockey Alumni Game, held at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey & Lacrosse Turf Complex on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009.
Former Bobcats present at the game were current Cheshire High School head girl's field hockey coach Eileen Gallagher '03, current Quinnipiac field hockey assistant coach Cheryl Torino '05 and current Norwood (Mass.) High School assistant coach Erin McKay '03.
In addition to the coaching ranks, the rest of the field served as a "Who's Who" in the Quinnipiac field hockey record books. Catie Canetti '00 finished her career second in career goals (30) and points (69). McKay also finished with eight career shutouts, a program record, while her 1.40 goals-against average and 166 saves rank second all-time. Jaime Cassesse '06 ranked in the top 10 in career goals (11) and points (42), while her 20 career assists rank third all-time. Her 12 assists in 2006 were also a program record. Jennifer Kinchla '07 Amy Cuniff '05, and Jillian Carroll '07 also ranked among the all-time scoring leaders that participated in the game.
Also present were Missy Pelton '05, Nicole Fernandes '06, Megan Dahle '07, Shannon Whittemore '07, Courtney Ryan '02, , Erin Begley '00, Amy Hollister '00, Lauren Kuchmak '08 and Megan Sciascia '08.
