Scouting The
Hofstra University Pride
Hofstra is 3-3
overall on the young season. The Pride won their first two games of
the season, 1-0 against Maine and 3-2 against NEC opponent Bryant.
They then lost three of their next four games leading up to
Wednesday's tilt. Genna Kovar and Becky Kavaks have total two goals
apiece for a team-high four points. Amanda Heyde has started three
of Hofstra's six games in goal, posting a 2-2 record with one
shutout and a 1.66 goals-against average.
All-Time Against The Pride
Quinnipiac is 2-7 in nine meetings with the Pride dating back to
their first game on Sept. 21, 1999. The Pride took the first four
meetings between the two teams, through 2002, before Quinnipiac
took a 1-0 decision in Hamden in 2003. Both wins in the series for
Quinnipiac have come on the Bobcats home turf while they have yet
to win in four games at Hofstra.
Last Time Out - Columbia 3, Quinnipiac 2
Quinnipiac squandered a two-goal lead against Columbia last Sunday as Lauren Hartnett and MacKenzie Liptak both scored in the loss.
Did I Catch A Niner In There?
Bonnie Shea (#9) was a force on offense for the Bobcats last week. Shea totaled a team-high three points on one goal and one assists.
And I Will Have
My Vengeance...
Shea scored the Bobcats only goal is a 3-1 loss to Northeastern on
Friday, Sept. 13. The senior, who transferred from Northeastern,
tallied her first goal since the 2007 season on a corner to pull
Quinnipiac within a goal midway through the second half.
