Quinnipiac field hockey seniors Kaitie Notarianni and Lauren Zimniski continue blogging about the team’s trip to the 2011 Northeast Conference Field Hockey Tournament. Tonight’s post regards the NEC’s annual year-end banquet.
After a long wait to get a new bus to take us to our hotel, we finally checked into a wonderful place in Princeton. We were so excited to see the rooms we got! Big, comfy white beds were calling our names as many of us took quick naps before it was time to get gorgeous. We arrived at Rider University for the NEC banquet and instantly inhaled dinner (like the ladies we are) as soon as we got there. It was such an exciting night for our team as many of our teammates got awards for All-Conference Academic honors for having a GPA of 3.2 or higher. Our beautiful roommate Kimmy Cunniff had a stand out night as she won All-Conference first team and the Defensive Player of the Year award. Megan McCreedy also received the honor of making the All-Conference first team and Kaitie Notarianni made the All-Conference second team. After awards were over, we watched a short highlight video of the teams that made it to the tournament and then the real fun could begin. DJ Danny started bumping the beatz and flashing the lights on the Dattco Experience to kick off the annual dance partay. The freshmen and our trainers strutted their stuff down the aisle to show their moves while everyone else sang and danced along. Personally, we believe we (Kaitie and Lauren) had the best moves of the night on the bus, but then again, we're pretty biased. When we got back to the hotel, we had our team meeting to discuss how we are going to beat Monmouth in the first game of the semi-finals tomorrow. Now, the two of us are snuggled up in our nice beds for the night to get a champions rest for tomorrow's game.
Stay Classy, Bobcat Fans.
Peace. Love. #QUFH.
