Quinnipiac Field Hockey Falls To #19 Albany, 3-0, In Ann Arbor, Mich.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Quinnipiac University field hockey team lost to nationally-ranked No. 19 Albany, 3-0, in a non-conference game played at the University of Michigan's Ocker Field in Ann Arbor, Mich. The loss drops Quinnipiac to 2-4 on the season while Albany improves to 4-1.

Junior Nicole Lewis (East Amherst, N.Y.) stopped seven of Albany's 10 shots on goal for the game including three in the first half. Senior Tina Watkins (Sweet Valley, Pa.) also had a defensive save for the Bobcats.

Both teams played to a scoreless tie through the game's first 35 minutes of play heading into halftime. Albany's Daphne Voormolen scored her fourth goal of the season on a shot from the right of the Bobcats' cage. Nina Walters and Suzy Clephane added markers for the Great Danes in the win.

Quinnipiac returns to action when they face Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 1 p.m. in Ann Arbor, Mich.
