The Quinnipiac field hockey team will travel to University Park, Pa. to face nationally-ranked No. 6 Penn State on Sunday, Sept. 11. The Bobcats are currently 3-1 following a 6-0 win against Colgate on Friday, Sept. 9 while the Nittany Lions are 2-3 on the year, with losses in their last two games to Connecticut, 2-1 in overtime, and No. 13 Princeton, 3-2.
Jess Rusin (Garwood, N.J.) led the Bobcats' charge against Colgate on Friday, scoring three times and assisting on a fourth goal in Quinnipiac's six-goal route of the Raiders. Four different Bobcats scored in the win, as Kaitlyn Notarianni (Clarks Summit, Pa.), Kim Cunniff (Walpole, Mass.) and Jessica Portal (Avon, Conn.) all scored for the Bobcats. Nicole Lewis (East Amherst, N.Y.) stopped four shots for her first shutout of the season.
Penn State senior Kelsey Amy and Hannah Allison have each scored four goals to lead the Nittany Lions while Laura Gebhart, five assists, and Whitney Reddig, four assists, have set up nine of PSU's 15 goals on the year.
Quinnipiac returns home on Wednesday, Sept. 14 when they host Lehigh at 3 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Turf Complex.
