The Quinnipiac field hockey team will head to Providence, R.I. to take on Brown University on Tuesday, Oct. 4 for its final non-conference match-up of the season. Quinnipiac and Brown will square-off at 4 p.m. Live stats are available for the contest.
Quinnipiac is coming off a 7-0 loss to Lafayette, and have lost its last two games, including an overtime loss to Maine on the previous Sunday. The Bobcats sit at 6-4 on the season while Brown is currently 1-8 on the year with the hopes of haulting its seven-game losing streak. Leslie Springmeyer leads Brown with four goals and an assist for a team-high nine points while Avery Burns leads the Bears with five assists.
For Quinnipiac, Nicole Lewis (East Amherst, N.Y.), despite a tough outing against Lafayette, ranks 5th in the NCAA Division I field hockey with 9.42 saves per game and 24th in save percentage (.742). Senior captain Kimberly Cunniff (Walpole, Mass.) and sophomore Jess Rusin (Garwood, N.J.) are tied for the team lead with seven goals on the year, while Cunniff's two assists give her a team-high 16 points on the season. Kaitlyn Notarianni (Clarks Summit, Pa.) checks in with 15 points (5g, 5a) and Megan McCreedy (White River, South Africa) has a team-high seven assists.
Following the Bobcats' game at Brown, Quinnipiac will host a pair of Northeast Conference this weekend. Robert Morris (6-7, 0-0 NEC) comes to town on Friday, Oct. 7 at 3:30 p.m. while St. Francis (Pa.) (2-10, 0-0 NEC) challenges the Bobcats on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 12 p.m.
