Field Hockey Celebrates Championship Season at End of the Year Awards Banquet
Senior Amanda Danziger (Smithtown, N.Y.) was the recipient of The Tara Thibeault Award, bestowed upon the team’s Most Valuable Player, at the Quinnipiac University field hockey awards banquet on Saturday, April 5, 2014. She and four other student-athletes received laurels as the Bobcats celebrated the accomplishments of their championship season and the eight senior class members of the program.

QU Field Hockey Team to Host “Be The Match” Bone Marrow Donor Testing Drive on Wednesday, April 2 at 11 AM
The Quinnipiac University field hockey team will be sponsoring a “Be the Match” Bone Marrow Registry Drive at the QU Athletics and Recreation Center Pep Band room in Hamden. Anyone interested in registering with the National Marrow Donor Program is invited to join the Bobcats on Wednesday, April 2 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., as part of QU’s Positive Play Initiative.

The Quinnipiac University field hockey team was honored by the SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association with a 2013 Gladiator Division I National Academy Team Award for posting a combined grade-point average of 3.00.

Quinnipiac Athletics Announces All-Time Best Department GPA For Fall 2013 Semester
The Quinnipiac University Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced its academic success by its student-athletes for the Fall 2013 semester. The Bobcats have once again excelled in the classroom with 428 student-athletes combining to post an all-time best cumulative grade-point average of 3.25.

Quinnipiac field hockey head coach Becca Main has announced the promotion of Cheryl Canada to associate head coach. Canada, a 2006 graduate of Quinnipiac, will begin her seventh season on Main’s coaching staff in 2014.

Quinnipiac Field Hockey Adds Transfer Simone Bindels For 2014-15 Season
Quinnipiac field hockey head coach Becca Main has announced that freshman Simone Bindels (Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, Netherlands) will join the Bobcats for the Spring 2014 season after transferring from Robert Morris University. Bindels will be eligible to play for the Bobcats immediately.

Quinnipiac Field Hockey Falls To American University, 3-1, In 2013 NCAA Tournament Play-In Game
The Quinnipiac University field hockey team lost to nationally-ranked No. 18 American University, 3-1, in the 2013 NCAA Tournament Play-In Game at Jacobs Field in Washington, D.C. With the loss, Quinnipiac finishes the year at 14-7 overall while American improves to 15-6.

The Quinnipiac University field hockey team clinched its first-ever MAAC Championship on Saturday evening by defeating Robert Morris, 1-0, in Lawrenceville, N.J. With the win, the Bobcats receive the MAAC's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship. The selection show will be on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 10 p.m. on NCAA.com with the play-in game set for Wed., Nov. 13. The Bobcats will host a viewing party in the Quinnipiac Athletics and Recreation Center's Conference Room, which will be open to the public to attend beginning at 9:30 p.m.

Field Hockey Takes on American in 2013 NCAA Tournament Play-In Game on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 1 PM
The Quinnipiac University field hockey team is set to open play in the 2013 NCAA Division I Tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 13 in the Nation’s Capital. The Bobcats drew American University (14-5, 6-0 Patriot League) in one of the Play-In games, which will take place on Jacobs Field at 1 p.m. The winner of the game will take on top-seeded Maryland in College Park.

2013 MAAC Co-Champions Quinnipiac Field Hockey will face Robert Morris for the first MAAC Field Hockey Tournament Championship in history. The Bobcats face the Colonials at 3 p.m. from Rider University's Ben Cohen Field in Lawrenceville, N.J.

Quinnipiac Defeats Robert Morris 1-0 To Capture MAAC Tournament Championship; First Conference Title Since 2003
Amanda Danziger (Smithtown,NY) scored the only goal off a penalty stroke in Quinnipiac’s 1-0 win over Robert Morris in the MAAC Championship on Saturday,Nov. 9, 2013. With the victory Quinnipiac clinches the first ever MAAC title and their first conference championship since they won the Northeast Conference Championship on Nov. 2, 2003.

2013 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Co-Champions Quinnipiac field hockey took home three major awards and seven All-MAAC Honors at the 2013 MAAC Awards Banquet hosted by Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J. Jess Rusin (Garwood, N.J.) was named the 2013 MAAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Year and Co-Player of the Year while Megan Conaboy (Clarks Summit, Pa.) was named the MAAC Co-Goalkeeper of the Year.

Video Highlights Of QU Field Hockey's Win Against Bryant, 5-0, To Advance To MAAC Championship Game; First MAAC Postseason Win In Quinnipiac History
Quinnipiac junior Danielle Allan had two goals, while junior Megan Osantisch and seniors Jennalise Taylor and Jess Rusin also scored in the Bobcats 5-0 win over Bryant in the MAAC Semifinals at Ben Cohen Field in Lawrenceville, N.J. With the victory the Bobcats move on to the MAAC Championship game and their first conference final since 2003. The win is Quinnipiac’s first ever playoff win in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in any sport. With a goal Rusin broke the Quinnipiac single season goals (16) and points (37) record.

Field Hockey Becomes MAAC Regular-Season Co-Champions With 3-0 Win At Siena; Rusin Ties Single-Season Goals, Points Records In Win
Jennalise Taylor (Yardley, Pa.) had a goal and an assist and Jess Rusin (Garwood, N.J.) scored twice to lead Quinnipiac to a 3-0 win against Siena in the final regular-season game of the season. With the win, Quinnipiac clinched a share of the 2013 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Field Hockey Championship. The Bobcats’ Co-Championship, which it will split with Rider, is the first for Quinnipiac Athletics as a member of the MAAC since joining the conference this season.

Senior Amanda Danziger (Smithtown, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal in overtime on Friday afternoon, as the Quinnipiac University field hockey team outlasted Bryant University, 1-0, on Senior Day at the QU Field Hockey Turf Complex on Mount Carmel Campus. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 11-6 overall, but more importantly move to 4-1 in MAAC play and are currently tied for first in the conference standings.

With a 4-2 win at Monmouth, the Quinnipiac field hockey team clinched a berth in the upcoming Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. The Bobcats improve to 3-1 in MAAC play and 10-6 overall while previously unbeaten Monmouth drops to 3-1 in conference action and 6-10 overall.

Quinnipiac field hockey senior Jess Rusin scored her 11th goal of the season, and 33rd of her career, but the Bobcats were dealt their first MAAC loss of the year at Rider, 2-1.

Led by two goals from Jess Rusin (Garwood, N.J.), the Quinnipiac University field hockey team defeated Robert Morris, 3-0, on Friday afternoon at the QU Field Hockey Turf Complex on Mount Carmel Campus. With the win, the Bobcats improved to 9-5 overall and 2-0 in MAAC competition, while the visiting Colonials dropped to 7-6 and 0-2 in league play.

Senior Jess Rusin (Garwood, N.J.) scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season to become Quinnipiac's all-time leader in career goals on Sunday, as the Bobcats defeated Sacred Heart University, 4-1, at the QU Field Hockey Turf Complex. Senior Jess Rusin (Garwood, N.J.) finished with a goal and an assist on Sunday to lift the Quinnipiac University field hockey team past cross-town nemesis Yale University, 3-2, in QU’s “Play4TheCure” game at the QU Field Hockey Turf Complex on Mount Carmel Campus. The Bobcats, now winners in five of their last six games, climbed back over the .500 mark and improved to 6-5 on the season.

Field Hockey Picked Second in MAAC Preseason Poll; Three Bobcats Make Preseason All-MAAC Team
The Quinnipiac field hockey team was picked to finish second in the 2013 MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, accumulating 43 points among a vote of the league’s seven head coaches. The Bobcats finished 2012 with a 12-7 overall record and 5-2 mark in the Northeast Conference, advancing to the NEC Tournament for the fifth consecutive year. The 2013 season marks Quinnipiac’s first as a member of the MAAC in addition to the inaugural year the conference will support field hockey as a sport.
