The Quinnipiac University field hockey team has joined hands with the National Foundation for Cancer Research to participate in its fundraising campaign, "Play4theCure". Sports teams from across the country are invited to to donate proceeds from at least one game to NFCR. Quinnipiac University will be raising funds during their game against Yale University on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 12:00 pm at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Turf Field in Hamden, CT. The Quinnipiac University Field Hockey Parent Association is selling raffle tickets for the "Chance Auction". The Chance Auction consists of baskets that will be full of various items donated by Quinnipiac Athletic Department members and varsity teams as well as donations from the field hockey student-athletes and their parents. Quinnipiac will be wearing pink warm-up shirts, pink shoe laces and will start the game with a pink ball in support of the cause. All proceeds made from the Chance Auction will be donated to NFCR. The team will also be collecting general donations.

Following its match-up against Yale on Sunday, Quinnipiac will head to Brown on Wednesday, Nov. 9 before opening MAAC play against Sacred Heart at home on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 12 p.m.
Scouting The Yale Bulldogs
Yale is currently 2-5 with one win in its last five games, a 3-2 decision against Vermont at home. Erica Borgo leads Yale in assists (6) and points (14) while also scoring four goals. Georgia Holland checks in with a team-high five goals on the year to go along with two assists for 12 points.

Quinnipiac and Yale have met 13 times, with the Bulldogs taking 10 of those games. Quinnipiac and Yale last met on Sept. 2, 2012, a 3-2 loss by Quinnipiac in New Haven, Conn. The Bobcats last win in the series came in 2011 when they topped the Bulldogs, 3-2 in overtime, on their home field.
