NORTHFORD, Conn. – Members of the Quinnipiac University field hockey attended the "Bring Your Child To The Library Day" event at Edward Smith Library in Northford, Conn.
The 75 young children in attendance participated in several arts & craft activities organized by members of Quinnipiac's field hockey team. In attendance were Danielle Allan, Megan Osantisch, Megan Conaboy, Nikki Shultz, Savanna Reilly, Haley Swartz, Lea Dietrichs, Angie King, Allison Tanner, Lily Shemo and Evonna Ackourey were in attendance for Quinnipiac, as well as associate head coach Cheryl Canada, as well as Quinnipiac's mascot, Boomer the Bobcats.
In addition to the Bobcats and Boomer, Ranger Russ from Meig's Point at Hammonasett State Beach/Park had a live groundhog presentation for Groundhog Day.
Quinnipiac's visit to Edward Smith Library was organized by Canada, who was recently named the program's associate head coach, and was part of the Department of Athletics' Positive Play Initiative which encourages community involvement by Quinnipiac's student-athletes and coaches.
