Bobcats Back at the Bank
After weather disallowed the Quinnipiac acrobatics & tumbling team a chance to compete in Hamden back in February, the Bobcats are excited for Monday night where they welcome the University of Oregon to the TD Bank Sports Center. The teams will square off at 6:00 p.m. on York Hill Campus. The Bobcats are 3-1 through four contests while Oregon has yet to lose this year and comes in with a perfect 3-0 mark on the season.
Head coach Felecia Mulkey's squad is the last remaining undefeated team in the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association (NCATA) after extending its unbeaten streak to three straight against Fairmont State last Saturday. Oregon won every single heat except for one against FSU. Oregon went 8-0 last season, including a 2-0 postseason record en route to the NCATA championship. Head coach Mulkey has 21 letter-winners returning, and has added seven to this year's squad.
All-Time Against the Ducks
The ducks hold a 3-0 all-time record over the Bobcats. In their last meeting on March 17, 2012, the Ducks came away with the 287.84-279.54 victory over Quinnipiac in Rome, Georgia.
Last Time On the Mats
The Quinnipiac Acrobatics and Tumbling team defeated Azusa Pacific and Fairmont State in their first tri-meet of the season. The Bobcats trailed early on, but came out on top with a winning total of 266.990. Azusa Pacific followed the Bobcats with a final score of 263.555, while Fairmont State finished with 260.695 points. With the wins, the Bobcats improved to 3-1 on the year. Quinnipiac won four out of the six events while Fairmont and Azusa tied for two. The Bobcats were able to take control of the third event, Pyramid, after falling behind after the first two events. After the half, Quinnipiac was able to capture the three remaining events (Toss, Tumble, Team) before taking the lead in the final Team event to place Quinnipiac at the top.
