Men's Basketball Welcomes Bishop Woods Elementary School Students
The Quinnipiac University men's basketball team welcomed fifth and sixth grade students from Bishop Woods Elementary School in New Haven for a 'college day' at the university on Thursday. Quinnipiac coaches and student-athletes showed the kids the school and athletic facilities in the same way that they'd present the school to a prospective basketball recruit on a visit. The coaches also put on a mini basketball clinic for the kids.

Two More Recruits Sign With Men's Basketball For 2009-10
Quinnipiac University Men's Basketball Head Coach Tom Moore has announced that two more recruits have signed with Quinnipiac for the 2009-10 season. Deontay Twyman (Olney, Md.) and Ryan Bogdan (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) will join Jamee Jackson (Irvington, N.J.) and Dave Johnson (Howell, N.J.), who signed with the Bobcats in the fall, in Moore's second full recruiting class.

Men's Basketball Lends a Hand at Elementary School Basketball Game
Members of the Quinnipiac University Men's Basketball Team and coaching staff recently signed autographs and spoke to school elementary children as part of the Church Street School vs. Spring Glen School teachers' basketball game. Assistant Coaches Sean Doherty and Scott Burrell made opening remarks to the crowd and Burrell helped begin the game by tossing the opening tip.

Tom Moore Named CollegeInsider.com 2009 NEC Coach of the Year
Quinnipiac University Men's Basketball Head Coach Tom Moore has been named the CollegeInsider.com 2009 Northeast Conference Coach of the Year, the website recently announced. Moore led a Bobcats team that was selected to finished seventh in the NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll to the NEC Tournament Semifinals despite a rash of injuries. The Bobcats finished 15-16 (10-8 NEC) and Moore picked up his 100th career victory.

Tom Moore To Appear On WFAN/YES-TV's "Mike'd Up" Thursday
Quinnipiac University Men's Basketball Head Coach Tom Moore has accepted an invitation to appear on WFAN's 'Mike'd Up' Thursday from 3-5 p.m. Moore will join host Mike Francesa in studio to discuss the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. The program can be heard on 660 AM and a live audio simulcast will be available via WFAN's homepage. It will also be televised on the YES Network.

Quinnipiac University sophomore men's basketball forward Justin Rutty (Newburgh, N.Y.) has been named to the All-Northeast Conference Tournament Team, the league office today announced. Rutty averaged 14.0 points and 15.0 rebounds in the Bobcats' two tournament games.

Men's Basketball Falls At Top-Seeded Robert Morris
James Feldeine (New York, N.Y.) scored a team-high 16 points and Justin Rutty (Newburgh, N.Y.) compiled his Northeast Conference-leading 13th double-double of the season, but the fifth-seeded Quinnipiac University men's basketball team fell to top-ranked Robert Morris, 75-48, in NEC Tournament Semifinal action Sunday afternoon at the Sewall Center. The loss ends the Bobcats' season at 15-16, while the Colonials (23-10) advance to the NEC Championship Game against the winner of tonight's other semifinal game between Mount St. Mary's and Sacred Heart.

The Quinnipiac University men's basketball team travels to Moon Township, Pa., to face top-seeded Robert Morris in Northeast Conference Tournament Semifinal action, Sunday at 2 p.m. The game will be televised live on MSG. The Bobcats are coming off an 86-78 overtime win at Long Island Thursday, while the Colonials staved off a second-half St. Francis (N.Y.) run to beat the eighth-seeded Terriers, 73-60. The Colonials won the first two meetings this season and hold a 13-7 advantage in the all-time series.

Quinnipiac University men's basketball student-athletes Justin Rutty (Newburgh, N.Y.) and James Feldeine (New York, N.Y.) have been named All-District 18 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, the organization today announced. Rutty earned first-team recognition, while Feldeine was named to the second team.

Men's Basketball Opens NEC Tournament Action At LIU Thursday
The Quinnipiac University men's basketball team opens NEC Tournament action at Long Island, Thursday in Brooklyn, N.Y. The fifth-seeded Bobcats are coming off a 69-55 win against Central Connecticut, while the fourth-seeded Blackbirds beat St. Francis (N.Y.), 66-54, in their last game. The Bobcats swept the season series from the Blackbirds, winning 69-63, Jan. 31, in Hamden, before taking a 78-73 win, Feb. 21 in Brooklyn. The win snapped the Blackbirds' 11-game home winning streak and the Bobcats became the only NEC team to win at the Wellness Center this season. The Bobcats own a 12-10 advantage in the all-time series, including wins in each of the last seven meetings. Included in the stretch are three wins at the Wellness Center, though by an average margin of victory of only 3.3 points.

Three Men's Basketball Players Named All-NEC
Justin Rutty (Newburgh, N.Y.) led three Quinnipiac University men's basketball players named All-Northeast Conference with a first-team selection, the league office today announced. In addition to being named to the second team, James Feldeine (New York, N.Y.) was tabbed the league's inaugural Most Improved Player. James Johnson (Queens, N.Y.) rounded out the Bobcats' all-conference selections with an All-Rookie Team nod.

James Feldeine (New York, N.Y.) scored a game-high 25 points as the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team defeated Central Connecticut, 69-55, Saturday afternoon at the TD Banknorth Sports Center. The win, the Bobcats' first at home against the Blue Devils in the last 16 meetings dating back to Jan. 7, 1981, secures the No. 5 position and trip to No. 4 Long Island in the NEC Tournament. The Bobcats improved to 14-15 (10-8 NEC), while the Blue Devils fell to 13-16 (8-10 NEC).

NESN To Televise Saturday's Men's Basketball Game Against CCSU
The Quinnipiac University men's basketball team plays host to Central Connecticut, Saturday afternoon, in the regular season finale for both teams. The Bobcats are coming off a 75-66 loss to Wagner, while the Blue Devils fell to Monmouth, Thursday. CCSU is one game behind the Bobcats in the NEC standings, but has control of the head-to-head tie-breaker. Should CCSU defeat the Bobcats, the Blue Devils would take the No. 5 seed in the NEC Tournament, pushing Quinnipiac to No. 6. The Blue Devils have a commanding 50-14 lead in the all-time series, and haven't lost in Hamden since Jan. 7, 1981.

Men's Basketball Clashes With Wagner Thursday
The Quinnipiac University men's basketball team faces Wagner in a pivotal game for both teams, Thursday night at the TD Banknorth Sports Center. The Bobcats have kept hope of hosting a first-round NEC Tournament game and a win against the Seahawks could help. Meanwhile, the Seahawks have rallied into a tie for the eighth, and final, NEC Tournament position with wins in three of their last four league games. Most recently, the Seahawks completed a two-game home sweep of the top two teams in the league, Robert Morris and Mount St. Mary's. The two teams have split the last four meetings, while the Bobcats won the last meeting, 71-63, on Dec. 13.

Justin Rutty Named NEC Co-Player of the Week
Quinnipiac University men's basketball sophomore forward Justin Rutty (Newburgh, N.Y.) has been named the Choice Hotels/Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week, the league office today announced. Rutty averaged 18.0 points and 11.0 rebounds in the Bobcats' two wins last week, including a 23-point, 16-rebound outburst at Long Island. The award, shared with Sacred Heart's Corey Hassan (19.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 3.5 apg. in wins at CCSU and against St. Francis (N.Y.)), is the first of Rutty's career.

Justin Rutty (Newburgh, N.Y.) compiled his Northeast Conference leading 11th double-double with 23 points and 16 rebounds as the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team defeated Long Island, 78-73, Saturday afternoon at the Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center. With the win, the Bobcats (13-14, 9-7 NEC) take a season sweep of the Blackbirds, become the only NEC team to beat LIU on its home court this season and snap the Blackbirds' 10-game home winning streak. LIU falls to 14-13 (10-6 NEC).

Jeremy Baker (Washington, D.C.) scored a career-high 20 points to lead four Bobcats in double figures as the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team defeated Fairleigh Dickinson, 78-62, Thursday night at the TD Banknorth Sports Center. With the win, the Bobcats take over sole possession of the fifth position in the NEC standings at 12-14 (8-7 NEC). The Knights fall to 7-20 (6-10 NEC).

James Feldeine Earns Two Weekly Awards
Quinnipiac University men's basketball junior wing James Feldeine (New York, N.Y.) has been named the Choice Hotels/Co-Northeast Conference Player of the Week, the league office today announced. In earning the league's top weekly award for the second consecutive week, Feldeine averaged 27.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.0 block per game as the Bobcats split their two contests against Dartmouth and Vermont. He becomes the only player in the NEC to earn the award twice thus far in 2008-09. Feldeine's terrific week also got the attention of Midmajority.com, which named him its 'Baller of the Week.'
