Former Bobcat C.J. Vick Receives Contract From NBDL

HAMDEN, Conn. – Former Quinnipiac University men's basketball player C.J. Vick '05 has been offered a contract by the National Basketball Association Development League (NBDL). Vick will be entered into the 2008 NBDL draft pool, making him eligible to be selected in November's 2008 NBDL Draft. The Pro Basketball News recently ranked Vick as the 15th-best prospect at the NBDL Pre-Draft Camp.

"I went to camp with guys from all over the world and came out rated one of the best," said Vick. "It's so humbling and as I move toward the draft I hope to get better and develop a focused sense of vision as I try to reach the ultimate goal. I hope to represent QU with pride and passion."

Vick sits atop the Quinnipiac Division I career list in blocks (107) and games played (115). His 577 rebounds rank second and his .560 field-goal percentage is good enough for fourth on the QU Division I career list. Vick converted on 64.9 percent of his field-goal attempts during his senior season in 2004-05, good for second-best on the program's Division I single-season list. He also blocked 43 shots in 2002-03, a Division I single-season record at QU. Vick's 18 rebounds against Northern Arizona on Dec. 30, 2003 tied for first on the QU Division I single-game list before Victor Akinyanju grabbed 21 boards on Feb. 3, 2007.
