Men's Basketball Lends a Hand at Elementary School Basketball Game

HAMDEN, Conn. – Members of the Quinnipiac University Men's Basketball Team and coaching staff recently signed autographs and spoke to school elementary children as part of the Church Street School vs. Spring Glen School teachers' basketball game. Assistant Coaches Sean Doherty and Scott Burrell made opening remarks to the crowd and Burrell helped begin the game by tossing the opening tip.

The players signed autographs and talked with the grade school kids about doing the right thing in school and listening to your teachers before the game. Boomer the Bobcat accompanied the team to Hamden High School, where the game took place.

The Bobcats took part in the event as part of Quinnipiac's "Positive Play" program, created to encourage community involvement and youth outreach to all of Quinnipiac's student-athletes.
