James Feldeine Earns Two Player of the Week Awards
HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac University senior wing James Feldeine (New York, N.Y.) has been named the Choice Hotels Northeast Conference Player of the Week for the third time in his career, the league office today announced. The senior wing also earned Connecticut 6 Player of the Week, becoming the second Bobcat to take the award (Justin Rutty - Nov. 22). Feldeine averaged 18.3 points per game and moved into 26th all-time on the Quinnipiac career scoring list in helping the Bobcats to a 3-0 week.
The senior wing shot 60.0 percent (21-35) from the floor, including a 61.5 percent (8-13) performance from long range. He began the week with a 19-point, six-rebound effort on 8-for-12 shooting in the Bobcats' 88-75 win against Brown. In just 23 minutes against CCSU, Feldeine scored 12 points on 5-for-9 shooting, including a perfect 2-for-2 from long range as the Bobcats cruised past the Blue Devils, 76-45, in New Britain. Feldeine finished the week with 24 points on 8-for-14 shooting in an 80-66 victory at Bryant.
Currently standing at 1,086 career points, Feldeine passed Phil Donofrio '62 (1,035), Joe Gaetano '59 (1,037), DeMario Anderson '08 (1,063) and Franklin Johnson '73 (1,077) on the QU career scoring list this week. For the season, Feldeine is averaging 18.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He's shot 46.5 percent from the floor, 36.5 percent from long range and 77.9 percent from the free-throw line.
