HAMDEN, Conn. - For the first time in program history, the Quinnipiac men's basketball team will host a national postseason tournament game. Quinnipiac will host the first game of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament on Monday, March 14 at 7 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center on Quinnipiac's York Hill Campus in Hamden, Conn.
"We are thrilled to accept an invitation to participate in the 2011 CollegeInsider.com Tournament," said Quinnipiac Head Coach Tom Moore. "The opportunity to host a game is an added bonus for our loyal fans in the Greater New Haven community and the Quinnipiac student body. Qualifying for postseason play for the second year in a row speaks to the dedication, leadership and outstanding play of our seniors, Justin Rutty, Deontay Twyman and Sean Light."
The game will be the first national postseason game in the country, and the only game being played that day. The NCAA Division I Tournament, as well as the National Invitational Tournament, is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 15. The field for the tournament will be announced on Sunday, March 13 and can be found at www.CollegeInsider.com as well as the Official Website of Quinnipiac Athletics, www.QuinnipiacBobcats.com.
