HARTFORD, Conn. – Head Coach Tom Moore of the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team was one of six coaches featured at the Connecticut 6 Classic Media Breakfast on Tuesday morning at the Downtown Marriott in Hartford, Conn.
Alongside of Coach Moore were the five other coaches participating in the annual discussion. The panel consisted of Sacred Heart's Dave Bike, Hartford's John Gallagher, Fairfield's Sydney Johnson, Central Connecticut State's Howie Dickenman and James Jones of Yale.
Media outlets from all over Connecticut were in attendance to gather information for featured stories and 2011-12 season previews. Rich Coppola, Fox61 News Sports Anchor, served as the event's host for the morning. He conducted a question-and-answer portion that covered all aspects of the upcoming campaigns.
When asked about his team, Coach Moore alluded to his squad as "athletic, energetic and young," a comical explanation for his scratchy voice. Johnson, now in his first year with the Stags, referenced a high-level of excitement for his first game on the Fairfield bench.
The classic, covered by Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network's Radio and Television (CPTV), will take place on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Mohegan Sun Arena. Sacred Heart and Hartford open the tournament at 3 p.m., followed by the Bobcats and the Stags at 5:30 p.m. and then Yale and CCSU in the nightcap at 8 p.m.
Tickets for the Connecticut 6 Classic can purchased through the ticket offices of each participating school, the Mohegan Sun box office, or ticketmaster.com.
