HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac University men's basketball assistant coach Scott Burrell was featured on 'A Dime Back' Tuesday, May 7, 2013. Burrell sat down with columnist Tyler Wilkinson and discussed his journey through basketball and his favorite experiences along the way.
One of the most accomplished players in the history of collegiate basketball in the state of Connecticut, Scott Burrell just completed his sixth season as an assistant coach of the Quinnipiac men's basketball program. Burrell joined Tom Moore's staff in July 2007 after a professional career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) that spanned more than a decade and included a World Championship title with the Chicago Bulls in 1998.
'A Dime Back' also presented "The Ultimate UConn Challenge," a field of 64 players to determine the greatest UConn Husky of all-time. Burrell earned the fifth seed in the Fieldhouse Region and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the challenge.
Burrell and the Bobcats will enjoy some time off over the summer before returning to campus in preparation for the upcoming 2013-14 campaign. Quinnipiac officially becomes a member of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in July.
