TRENTON, N.J. – Freshman AJ Sumbry (East Windsor, N.J.) of the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team was featured in the Times of Trenton in an article written by Mark Eckel. The story reveals Sumbry's transition from high school basketball to college basketball, and the new challenges he faces on a daily basis.
Sumbry and the Bobcats are off to a 5-3 record as they near the end of non-conference play. The 6-foot-8 forward is chipping in with valuable minutes off the bench, averaging 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. Sumbry poured in a season high of 10 points and three rebounds in the team's season-opener against Hartford at the Connecticut 6 Classic.
The Bobcats will take a week off for finals before returning to the hardwood on Sunday, Dec. 15 at Vermont. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. at Patrick Gymnasium in Burlington, Vt.
