HAMDEN, Conn. – Ike Azotam's (Boston, Mass.) stellar performance against Monmouth didn't go unnoticed, as the senior forward was named the MAAC and College Sports Madness Player of the Week. Azotam led the Bobcats to their second conference win with a 94-77 decision over the Hawks.
Azotam matched his season-high with 24 points, and established a new season-best with 16 rebounds, in the 17-point win at Monmouth. For Azotam, it was his seventh double-double of the season and 33rd of his career. Azotam was very efficient on the offensive end, sinking 8-of-13 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line. He also grabbed eight offensive rebounds, which aided in the Bobcats' 20 second chance points. Azotam has tallied at least 17 points in five straight games.
A native of Boston, Mass., Azotam leads the MAAC in rebounding at 11 rebounds per game, a statistic that has him tied for sixth in the nation. He also leads the team in scoring at 17.1 points per game, which has him ranked seventh in the MAAC.
