Ike Azotam and Ousmane Drame Recognized by College Hoops Daily

HAMDEN, Conn. – Ike Azotam (Boston, Mass.) and Ousmane Drame (Boston, Mass.) were named to the College Hoops Daily All-MAAC team, which was released to the public by columnist Jon Teitel of the association. Azotam and Drame have received an abundance of recognition after two tremendous seasons this year.

Hoops Daily reviewed the entire season and announced its picks for the best players from every conference in the country. Teitel ranked the best five players from every conference based on their statistical value. He has also made his picks for each conference's Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, 6th Man of the Year, and Coach of the Year.

Azotam averaged 16.5 points and 10.2 rebounds per game with 18 double-doubles, while Drame averaged  13.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest with 14 double-doubles. Quinnipiac was one of two teams to have two players averaging a double-double. Azotam has 1,597 career points and 1,033 career rebounds with Drame on pace to collect similar figures. Drame has 903 career point s and 758 career rebounds with one year left to play.

Joining Azotam and Drame on CHD's All-MAAC team were  Billy Baron (Canisius), Antoine Mason (Niagara) and Sean Armand (Iona). Billy Baron was named Player of the Year; Khallid Hart (Marist) was tabbed Rookie of the Year; Maurice Barrow (Fairfield) was named 6th Man of the Year; and Jimmy Patsos (Siena) was selected Coach of the Year.

The Bobcats have accepted a bid into the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT), and will take on cross-town rival Yale on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the John J. Lee Amphitheater in New Haven.
