Quinnipiac Day at the Basketball Hall of Fame – The “MAAC Experience”

Dear Friends & Fans of Quinnipiac Athletics,

On behalf of Quinnipiac’s Department of Athletics & Recreation, I am pleased to extend to you a special invitation to attend “Quinnipiac Day” on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 to officially welcome the Bobcats to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The event will be held at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. with all the action beginning at 1 p.m. and concluding with a reception at 3:30 p.m.

The Basketball Hall of Fame will be open to the public with a list of scheduled events to take place throughout the afternoon. Directed by Quinnipiac men’s basketball coach Tom Moore and women’s basketball coach Tricia Fabbri, “Quinnipiac Day” kicks off with a Coaches’ Clinic on the Court of Dreams (1:00-2:30 p.m.), followed by a chance for fans to explore the historic landmark and its memorabilia (2:30-3:30 p.m.).

“Quinnipiac Day” will conclude in the afternoon with a reception at the Special Exhibit Gallery adjacent to the “MAAC Experience” display at the Hall of Fame. "The MAAC Experience" showcases the league's institutions and features a digital display with the most up-to-date information about MAAC men's and women's basketball, as well as historical artifacts and memorabilia from the conference's 30-year history. Also featured is the debut of the second edition of the “A Day In the Life” video, a 12-minute production that gives viewers an insight into a typical day of a basketball student-athlete, and features one student-athlete from each of the MAAC’s 11 institutions. The Bobcats’ representative in this informative and entertaining piece is rising junior guard Jasmine Martin. In addition, the reception will feature opening remarks from Quinnipiac University President John L. Lahey, Director of Athletics and Recreation Jack McDonald, MAAC Commissioner Richard J. Ensor, Esq. and Quinnipiac Basketball Coaches Tom Moore and Tricia Fabbri. Light appetizers will be served and a cash bar will be available.

Please join us as Quinnipiac celebrates its new membership in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
