Evan Conti and Justin Harris to Compete in the Gotham Hoops Invitational
Two members of the 2014-15 men’s basketball team – Evan Conti (Bayside, N.Y.) and Justin Harris (Paterson, N.J.) – have been selected to play in the Gotham Hoops Invitational, to be held Saturday, May 30, at Adelphi University. The annual event serves as a showcase for the top men's college basketball seniors in the Tri-State area.

Quinnipiac Men’s Basketball Named NCAA Statistical Champion For Rebounding Margin For The Second Straight Season
For the second consecutive season, the Quinnipiac men’s basketball team was named the 2014-15 Division I statistical champion for Rebound Margin, announced by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. A national power on the boards, Quinnipiac led the nation in three of the four major rebounding categories this year.

Former Men’s Basketball Captain James “Mac” Lawrence McNamee Dies at 63
James “Mac” Lawrence McNamee, a standout on the Quinnipiac men’s basketball team from 1969-1973, passed away on April 4, 2015 at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. He was 63 years old.

Zaid Hearst and Ousmane Drame Selected to NABC All-District I Team
Seniors Zaid Hearst (Bethesda, Md.) and Ousmane Drame (Boston, Mass.) were selected to the National Basketball Association of Coaches (NABC) All-District I Team on Thursday, March 26, 2015, a laurel that recognizes the nation’s best players in collegiate basketball. Hearst was tabbed to the First Team and Drame was selected to the Second Team.

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced its major award winners for the 2014-15 season on Friday night, where Quinnipiac senior forward Ousmane Drame (Boston, Mass.) was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Year. The awards banquet was held at Swyer Theater at The Egg in Albany, New York and presented live on ESPN3.

Quinnipiac seniors Zaid Hearst (Bethesda, Md.) and Ousmane Drame (Boston, Mass.) were recognized again on Thursday, March 5, earning a selection to the College Sports Madness Men’s Basketball All-MAAC Team, announced by the committee.

The sixth-seeded Quinnipiac men’s basketball team was upset by No. 11 Marist College on Thursday night, as the Bobcats fell in the first round by a final score of 80-74 at the Times Union Center in Albany. Ousmane Drame (Boston, Mass.) had a monster game with 27 points and 23 rebounds.

QU Men’s Basketball Edged by Manhattan, 69-65; Bobcats open MAAC Tournament against Marist on Thursday Night
Zaid Hearst (Bethesda, Md.) scored a game-high 22 points and Ousmane Drame (Boston, Mass.) flirted with a triple double, but the Quinnipiac men’s basketball team was edged by Manhattan College, 69-65, on Sunday afternoon at Draddy Gymnasium in Riverdale. Quinnipiac serves as the No. 6 seed in the MAAC Championships and will take on Marist in the first round next week, Thursday, March 5, at Times Union Center in Albany.

The Quinnipiac men's basketball team was on the brink of an impressive upset Sunday afternoon, but the MAAC's top team Iona College persevered in the closing minutes to escape with a 60-57 victory at the TD Bank Sports Center. Ousmane Drame (Boston, Mass.) led the Bobcats with 16 points, 18 rebounds and four blocks in the losing effort - becoming Quinnipiac's Division I leader in career rebounds.

QU Men’s Basketball Winning Streak Halted at Canisius, 63-57
Quinnipiac’s three-game winning streak came to a close on Friday night, as the Bobcats fell short to Canisius College, 63-57, at the Koessler Athletic Center in Buffalo. Winners in five of its last six entering the night, Quinnipiac met a tough-minded defense that held the visitors to just 33.3 percent shooting in the game. Coupled with 14 turnovers and just two three-point field goals, Canisius scored just enough to hold off Quinnipiac’s late charge to escape with the MAAC triumph.

It was the first time Quinnipiac has ever hosted and defeated a high major program.

Nothing really went wrong for the Quinnipiac men’s basketball team Thursday night. Ousmane Drame (Boston, Massachusetts) and Justin Harris (Paterson, New Jersey) dominated the post, and Zaid Hearst (Bethesda, Maryland) flirted with a triple-double as Quinnipiac coasted to an 80-65 victory over Lehigh University at the TD Bank Sports Center.

It was déjà vu all over again for the Quinnipiac men’s basketball team on Sunday afternoon. Boston University’s Jon Papale nailed a three-pointer from the top of the key with 3.4 seconds left to give the hosting Terriers a 71-68 victory at Case Gymnasium. Papale hit the same shot in a similar situation two years ago.

The Quinnipiac University men's basketball team took part in a great event earlier this week, as the Bobcats joined the Connecticut Special Olympics at the QU Recreation Center on the Mount Carmel Campus. Ike Azotam and Umar Shannon Sign Professional Contracts to play Overseas
The list of Quinnipiac men’s basketball players to move into the professional ranks continues to grow for head coach Tom Moore. Former standouts Ike Azotam and Umar Shannon have both inked contracts to continue playing basketball overseas in 2014-15. Azotam has signed with Marin Peixegalego in Spain while Shannon will head to KB Besa Peja in the Republic of Kosovo. Terms of the agreements have not been disclosed.
