Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Head Coach Rand Pecknold To Speak At The Exchange Club Of Easton's Annual Dinner
Quinnipiac men's ice hockey head coach Rand Pecknold will be the guest of honor at the annual Exchange Club of Easton Dinner, held at Roberto's Restaurant in Monroe, Conn., on Monday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. The Exchange Club of Easton is a charitable organization that raises money to benefit victims of child abuse and other initiatives involving the care of children.

Jean-Marc Beaudoin Named Men's Ice Hockey Captain For 2009-10 Season
At the 2008-09 Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Senior Awards Banquet, senior captain Dan Henningson (Edmonton, Alberta) was named the team's 2008-09 Most Valuable Player. Junior assistant captain Jean-Marc Beaudoin (St. Paul, Alberta) was also announced as the 2009-10 captain in addition to winning the team's 7th Player Award, the Coaches Award and the inaugural Academic Award. Freshman Scott Zurevinski (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) took home the team's Rookie of the Year Award.

Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey's Bryan Leitch Wins 2009 NCAA Scoring Title
Senior Bryan Leitch (Coquitlam, B.C.) became the first Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey player in school history to lead the nation in scoring after totaling 59 points over 39 games for a 1.51 points per game average. Leitch also led the nation with 47 assists at a 1.21 per game clip. Leitch was named to the ECAC Hockey Second Team this season while also being announced as a Hobey Baker Memorial Award candidate. This past weekend, Leitch participated in the 2009 NCAA Frozen Four Skills Competition, finishing second in the hardest-shot competition.

Men's Ice Hockey Has Seventeen Players Named To 2008-09 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team
The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team placed 17 student-athletes on the 2008-09 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team. Student-athletes eligible for the All-Academic team must earn a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.00, on a 4.00 scale, or have a GPA over 3.00 over the past three semesters.

Men's Ice Hockey's David Marshall Signs With AHL's Lake Erie Monsters
Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey senior David Marshall (Buffalo, Minn.) has signed with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Lake Erie (Ohio) Monsters. Lake Erie is the top affiliate of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Colorado Avalanche. Last week, Lake Erie also signed Quinnipiac senior captain Dan Henningson.

Quinnipiac senior Bryan Leitch (Coquitlam, B.C.) has been chosen as one of 36 men's college ice hockey players in the nation to participate in the 2009 NCAA Frozen Four Skills Competition, to take place on April 10 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. Leitch is one of three ECAC Hockey players selected to compete in the event and is just the second Quinnipiac men's ice hockey player selected for the Skills Competition after Reid Cashman was also chosen during the 2006-07 season.

The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team will hit the ice at Thompson Arena in Hanover, N.H. on Saturday, Feb. 28 when they take on Dartmouth College in their final regular-season game of the 2008-09 season. Quinnipiac is 8-10-3 in league play with 19 points for 8th place in the league standings. Dartmouth is tied with St. Lawrence for 4th place with 24 points after posting an 11-8-2 record. With the ECAC Hockey Tournament picture finally beginning to clear up, Quinnipiac can finish no higher than 7th and no lower than 9th. Should Quinnipiac win or tie, they would secure the 7th or 8th seeds, respectively, and would host a first round tournament game next weekend. Should Quinnipiac lose, and Clarkson defeats Union, they would still clinch the 8th seed.

It will be the first trip to Bright Hockey Center since last year's ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals, in which Harvard won the best-of-three series, 2-1. Teddy Bear Toss To Take Place On Feb. 20 During Men's Hockey Game Against Yale
Quinnipiac University today announced it will hold its second-ever Teddy Bear Toss on Friday, Feb. 20 during the men's ice hockey game versus Yale University at the TD Banknorth Sports Center. All Fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal - preferably new - to the game and throw it onto the ice during the first intermission as a donation throuh Don's Hat Rack to benefit the Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. Last year more than 700 stuffed animals were collected during the inaugural event, which were later distributed to children by student-athletes during the team hospital visit. In addition to the Teddy Bear Toss, game-worn jerseys from last weekend's Pink at the Rink event, as well as sticks and a Rand Pecknold autographed pink tie are also still available to bid on. The proceeds from the online auction will go to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey senior David Marshall (Buffalo, Minn.) has been named one of 16 semifinalists for the 57th Walter Brown Award, presented by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston. The award is given to the best American-born Division I college hockey player in New England. The Gridiron Club will announce the finalists for the award in March, following league playoffs and before the start of the NCAA Tournament.

Quinnipiac University today announced that the New England Sports Network (NESN) will re-air last Friday's men's ice hockey game twice this week. The first re-broadcast will occur tonight (Tuesday, Jan. 6) at 7 p.m. in Connecticut only, and will be followed up with another airing tomorrow (Wednesday, Jan. 7) at 2:30 p.m. to NESN's entire regional audience. Men's Ice Hockey Faces Rensselaer Tonight At 7 P.M.
The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team heads to Troy, N.Y. to take on Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the final game of their Capital region swing. The Bobcats and Engineers square off at 7 p.m. on Saturday night at Houston Field House. Quinnipiac is coming off a convincing 6-3 win against Union on Friday night for their first ECAC Hockey victory of the season. Princeton goaltender Zane Kalemba made 37 saves as the nationally-ranked No. 12 Tigers defeated the Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team, 2-0, Tuesday night at the TD Banknorth Sports Center. Men's Ice Hockey Head Coach Rand Pecknold Honored As An Elm City Legend
Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey head coach Rand Pecknold was honored on Monday, Nov. 3 as one of seven coaches and media personalities to form the inaugural class at the Elm City Legends ceremony. Elm City Legends was hosted at the Omni Hotel in downtown New Haven by the March of Dimes, which raised more than $50,000 to assist families and fund research for the prevention of premature births and birth defects.

Spencer Heichman Named ECAC Hockey Rookie Of The Week
Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey freshman Spencer Heichman (Yorba Linda, Calif.) was named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week on Nov. 3. Heichman was the only Bobcats player to total a point in both games last week. Heichman is the first Quinnipiac men's ice hockey to win the Rookie of the Week award since Jan. 22, 2007 when Jean-Marc Beaudoin received the honor.

The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team lost to Union College, 6-5 in overtime, in the first game of the Mutual of Omaha Stampede at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb. The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team received three votes in this week's USCHO.com/CBS College Sports XXL Division I poll. Defending National Champion Boston College took the top spot in the poll, while No. 10 Princeton is the highest-ranked ECAC Hockey team. Rand Pecknold's Blades and Shaves Raises $27,218 For Children's Cancer Research
The Rand Pecknold Blades & Shaves event, a head-shaving fundraiser held on Saturday at the TD Banknorth Sports Center, raised a total of $27,218 to date in donations to benefit the St. Baldrick's Foundation. All proceeds from the Oct. 4 event go to support medical research in the fight against children's cancer. Quinnipiac University Men's Ice Hockey Head Coach Pecknold, along with most of the team's student-athletes and staff, were among 47 people who had their heads shaved following the team's annual Blue & Gold game.

Lord Stanley's Cup Visits Quinnipiac's TD Banknorth Sports Center
The sixty or so campers at Quinnipiac University head coach Rand Pecknold's summer camp were treated to a special visit on Wednesday. Chris Scopetto is an Hamden native and also the assistant equipment manager for the 2008 Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings. As is the tradition in the National Hockey League, every member of the championship organization is allowed one day with Lord Stanley's Cup.

Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey senior captain Dan Henningson (Edmonton, Alberta) was featured in the Inside College Hockey A To Z 2008-09 Season Preview. WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON, Pa. ? Former Quinnipiac All-American defenseman Reid Cashman (Red Wing, Minn.) has signed with the top affiliate of the National Hockey League's Pittsburgh Penguins, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. Last season, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton lost in the Calder Cup Finals to the Chicago Wolves.
