Regular-Season Finale

The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team will hit the ice at Thompson Arena in Hanover, N.H. on Saturday, Feb. 28 when they take on Dartmouth College in their final regular-season game of the 2008-09 season. Quinnipiac is 8-10-3 in league play with 19 points for 8th place in the league standings. Dartmouth is tied with St. Lawrence for 4th place with 24 points after posting an 11-8-2 record.

Playoff Picture

With the ECAC Hockey Tournament picture finally beginning to clear up, Quinnipiac can finish no higher than 7th and no lower than 9th. Should Quinnipiac win or tie, they would secure the 7th or 8th seeds, respectively, and would host a first round tournament game next weekend. Should Quinnipiac lose, and Clarkson defeats Union, they would still clinch the 8th seed.

All-Time Against Dartmouth

Quinnipiac is 4-3-1 all-time against the Big Green with their last win coming earlier this year at the TD Banknorth Sports Center. Quinnipiac is 1-2-1 all-time at Thompson Arena, with their last win on Dartmouth's home ice coming on Oct. 30, 2004 in their first meeting all-time. Quinnipiac is 3-1-0 all-time on their home ice, including a 2-1-0 mark at the TD Banknorth Sports Center.

10 and 20

Bryan Leitch (10 goals-39 assists) and David Marshall (18-21) are two of 26 players in NCAA Division I hockey to reach 10 goals and 20 assists this season. Quinnipiac is the only ECAC Hockey team to feature two such players, and one of five teams - along with Boston University, St. Cloud State, Mercyhurst and UMass - to do so.

Looking Towards 50

With 49 points entering the final weekend of the regular season, Leitch has an opportunity to become just the second player in Quinnipiac's Division I history to reach 50 points in a single season. The only other Division I player to reach 50 points was Shawn Mansoff, who tallied 56 points during the 1999-2000 season.

Two In The Top 10

Quinnipiac is also one of two teams, along with Minnesota to have two players ranked in the Top 10 in scoring nationally.

Two For 40

Should Marshall pick up a point this weekend, he would make Quinnipiac the second team this season to feature two 40-point scorers. Michigan is the only team in the nation with two 40-point scorers.

Atta Boy Bruiser!

Before last Saturday's game against Brown, Chris Myers had scored in three straight games. He joined Bryan Leitch, Marshall and Lampe as the only four Bobcats to score a goal in three consecutive games. For the year, Myers has seven goals and three assists for 10 points.

Chart Topper

David Marshall scored his 68th career goal in the Bobcats' 5-3 win against Clarkson last Saturday. Marshall passed Chris Cerrella ‘01 for the Quinnipiac Division I record for career goals scored. With a goal against Brown, Marshall has 69 goals and is in the hunt to become the Quinnipiac's first Division I hockey player to scored 70 goals in a career. He would be the sixth player all-time at Quinnipiac to reach the mark, joining Cerrella (99), Bill Veneris ‘82 (92), Todd Johnson ‘89 (91), Jim Hanscom ‘80 (83) and Richard Buckholz ‘87 (76).

Use It To Your Advantage

Quinnipiac is ranked 9th in power-play percentage with 37 goals in 189 chances for 19.6%. On the penalty kill, the Bobcats rank 18th at 86.5% after killing 160 of 185 opponent power-plays. The Bobcats are also ranked 12th in combined special teams at 52.7% (197-374).
