Men's Ice Hockey Plays At #16 Union Tonight At 7 PM
Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team will take on
nationally-ranked #16 Union College at 7 p.m. at Messa Rink in
Schenectady, N.Y. on Saturday, Feb. 20. Quinnipiac will look to get
back on track following a 5-3 loss to Rensselaer on Friday, Feb.
19. Union defeated Princeton on Friday night, 4-1, for its fourth
win in its last five games. Quinnipiac is currently 15-14-2 overall
and 9-10-0 in ECAC Hockey while Union is 17-8-6 overall, including
an 11-4-4 mark in league play. The Dutchmen clinched a first-round
bye in the upcoming ECAC Hockey Tournament.
Quinnipiac and Union have met 14 times, with the Bobcats holding an
8-5-1 record in the all-time series. Quinnipiac won seven of the
first eight games between the two teams between 2000 and 2007,
while Union has posted a 4-1-1 record in the last six meetings.
Quinnipiac is 4-3-0 all-time on its home ice against Union,
including a 2-3-0 mark against the Dutchmen at the TD Bank Sports
Center following a 2-1 overtime loss on Jan. 9, 2010.
Friday Night Recap
Quinnipiac sophomore Scott Zurevinski scored twice in the Bobcats'
5-3 loss to RPI on Friday night. Senior captain Jean-Marc Beaudoin
had a goal and an assist in the loss. Quinnipiac trailed 4-1 in the
game before Beaudoin's goal to end the 2nd period and Zurevinski's
goal early in the 3rd period pulled the Bobcats to within a goal.
Union defeated Princeton, 4-1, highlighted by Mario
Valery-Trabucco's school-record 39th point of the season on a goal
in the 2nd period.
