Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Announces 2011-12 Schedule
The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2011-12 season. The Bobcats will play five home games in the month of October, including a season-opening exhibition against Acadia at High Point Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center on Oct. 2, 2011. Quinnipiac's non-conference home schedule includes tilts against Massachusetts, Canisius, Bentley, Holy Cross as well as Nutmeg State, and former Atlantic Hockey rival, Sacred Heart for the first time in TD Bank Sports Center history.

Quinnipiac Head Coach Rand Pecknold Named To NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Committee
Quinnipiac University Men's Ice Hockey Head Coach Rand Pecknold has been selected as ECAC Hockey's representative on the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey committee. Pecknold will serve on the committee for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. The committee, which has the primary responsibilities of selecting the teams, sites and seeding of the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament, is comprised of five individuals, with ECAC Hockey, Central Collegiate Hockey Association, Hockey East, Atlantic Hockey and the Western Collegiate Hockey Association represented.

Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey's Mike Dalhuisen Suits Up For Dutch National Team At IIHF World Championships
Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey sophomore Mike Dalhuisen, a native of Nymegen, Holland, recently returned from his second stint with the Dutch National Team at the 2011 IIHF Division I World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. Dalhuisen also played for the Dutch team last season and previously played for the Netherlands' U18 and U20 teams. Dalhuisen tallied one goal and had two more assists in games against Hungary, Italy, Spain and South Korea.

Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Hosts Cancer Awareness Skate
Over 60 youth skaters attended a youth clinic and open skate conducted by the Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey program on Monday, April 4. The proceeds from the clinic were donated to aid in cancer research. Quinnipiac men's ice hockey head coach Rand Pecknold and several student-athletes conducted the clinic and then skated with the youth players and their friends and families afterwards. The event is part of Quinnipiac's Positive Play initiative, a program implemented by Quinnipiac Athletics to encourage community involvement by Quinnipiac's student-athletes.

Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey's Jeremy Langlois Named Most Valuable Player At Annual Banquet
At the Annual Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Awards Banquet, sophomore Jeremy Langlois (Tempe, Ariz.) was named the team's Most Valuable Player after leading the Bobcats with 18 goals this season. Freshman Connor Jones (Montrose, British Columbia) was named the program's Rookie of the Year while Eric Hartzell (White Bear Lake, Minn.) was awarded the team's 7th Player Award. Senior's Pat McGann (Evergreen, Ill.) and Sean Coughlin (Winthrop, Mass.) were honored with the Coaches' Award while Yuri Bouharevich (Montreal, Quebec) received the Academic Award after posting a team-high 3.88 grade-point average.

The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team's Cancer Awareness Skate, originally scheduled for Thursday, March 31 at 6 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center on the York Hill campus of Quinnipiac University, has been re-scheduled for Monday, April 4. Three of the four first-round series ended in upsets, while Quinnipiac was the only favorite to win their series, sweeping Brown to advance. No. 10 Harvard upset No. 7 Clarkson, No. 11 St. Lawrence knocked off No. 6 Princeton and No. 12 Colgate shocked No. 5 Rensselaer.

Former Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey players Chris White '05 and Greg Holt '10 were featured on USCHO.com's Men's Division I Hockey Longest Game's list. Holt scored the game-winning goal in the longest game in college hockey history as Quinnipiac defeated Union in Game 1 of the ECAC Hockey Tournament Quarterfinals last year - a game that lasted 150:22. White is listed as scoring the game winner in the 45th longest game of all-time - a 6-5 win against Iona in the MAAC Tournament Quarterfinals on March 9, 2002. That game lasted 86:18.

Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Advances To ECAC Hockey Tournament Quarterfinals With 4-0 Win Against Brown
The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team held Brown scoreless for the second consecutive night, 4-0, to win the ECAC Hockey Tournament First Round Series at the TD Bank Sports Center and advance to the league quarterfinals for the sixth straight season. Quinnipiac's back-to-back shutouts against Brown mark the second time in ECAC Hockey Tournament history that a team held its opponent scoreless in a postseason series, matching Browns' 2-0 and 1-0 wins against Harvard in 2009. Quinnipiac is now 11-2 all-time in the first round including a 9-2 record at the TD Bank Sports Center for the opening round.

Jeremy Langlois (Tempe, Ariz.) scored the second fastest goal in Quinnipiac and ECAC Hockey Tournament history just 15 seconds into the Bobcats' 4-0 shutout of Brown in the first game of their best-of-three ECAC Hockey Tournament First-Round series at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn. Quinnipiac junior goalie Dan Clarke (Belleville, Ontario) stopped 22 shots for the shutout, the fourth all-time for Quinnipiac in the ECAC Hockey tournament. Quinnipiac also improved to 17-11 all-time in ECAC Hockey Tournament history, including an 11-2 mark in the First Round, with a 9-2 record at the TD Bank Sports Center for the opening round. The Bobcats go to 14-13-8 on the season while Brown drops to 10-15-5 for the year.

Former Men's Ice Hockey All-American Reid Cashman Named To ECAC Hockey Top 50 Team
Former Quinnipiac All-American Reid Cashman has been named one of the top 50 players in ECAC Hockey history as #$%^announced by the league today. As part of its 50th Anniversary celebration, ECAC Hockey has been releasing the 50 best #$%^players in league history since Nov. 11, with Cashman being named in the ninth group. Cashman led all ECAC Hockey #$%^defenseman in scoring in 2006 and 2007 on his way to consecutive First Team and All-American honors.

Quinnipiac sophomore Eric Hartzell (White Bear Lake, Minn.) has been announced as one of 15 semifinalists for the prestigious #$%^Walter Brown Award, given annually by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston. The award, now in its 59th year, honors the top #$%^American-born NCAA Division I men's ice hockey player in New England.

Quinnipiac overcame a two-goal deficit against RPI on Friday night to come back and tie the Engineers, #$%^3-3, to move to 13-10-5 overall and 6-6-4 in ECAC Hockey play. Union defeated Princeton, 7-4, on Friday night after trailing 4-1 #$%^in the second period before scoring six unanswered goals for the win. The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team defeated Clarkson, 3-2, in an ECAC Hockey match-up at Cheel Arena in Potsdam, N.Y. Jeremy Langlois (Tempe, Ariz.) scored twice, with both goals coming in the first period, to lead the Bobcats, who improve to 6-6-2 in ECAC Hockey play and 13-10-3 overall. Clarkson drops to 6-5-1 in league play and 13-10-2 overall. Quinnipiac also extends its unbeaten streak when leading after the second period to 59 games (54-0-5), the longest current streak in NCAA Division I hockey.

Malafronte discusses Langlois' transition from Arizona to leading the Bobcats in scoring this season. Langlois currently checks in with a team-high 11 goals and 16 points. Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Practices At U.S. Olympic Training Facility In Lake Placid, N.Y.
En route to its ECAC Hockey weekend series against Clarkson and St. Lawrence, the Quinnipiac men's ice hockey stopped at the United States Olympic Training Facility in Lake Placid, N.Y. The Bobcats skated on Thursday, Jan. 27 at Herb Brooks Arena, named after the head coach of the 1980 US Olympic team, and site of the 'Miracle On Ice' game that saw Team USA upset the USSR before going on to win the Gold Medal at the '80 Olympics.

The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team played to a 3-3 tie with Brown University in an ECAC Hockey match-up at Meehan Auditorium in Providence, R.I. The tie puts Quinnipiac at 4-2-1 overall while they open their ECAC Hockey schedule at 0-0-1. Brown goes to 1-1-1 overall and 0-0-1 in ECAC Hockey play as well. Quinnipiac sophomore Clay Harvey (Gull Lake, Saskatchewan) had the first multiple-goal game of his career, scoring twice within three minutes in the second period. Mike Dalhuisen (Nymegen, Holland) also added a goal for the Bobcats.

The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team defeated Bentley, 3-2, in a non-conference match-up at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn. For the first time in Quinnipiac history, both the men's and women's ice hockey programs received votes in the USCHO.com Division I poll. The women are a perfect 4-0-0 through their first four regular-season contests and received eight votes in the latest poll, while the men, 1-1-0 after a season-opening weekend split with Ohio State, received two votes in the second poll of the season.
