Bobcats will play five home games in the month of October, including a season-opening exhibition against Acadia at High Point &#xD;
Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center on Oct. 2, 2011. Quinnipiac's non-conference home schedule includes tilts against &#xD;
Massachusetts, Canisius, Bentley, Holy Cross as well as Nutmeg State, and former Atlantic Hockey rival, Sacred Heart for the &#xD;
first time in TD Bank Sports Center history.</description>

      <description>Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey sophomore Mike Dalhuisen, a native of Nymegen, Holland, recently returned from his second stint with the Dutch National Team at the 2011 IIHF Division I World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. Dalhuisen also played for the Dutch team last season and previously played for the Netherlands' U18 and U20 teams. Dalhuisen tallied one goal and had two more assists in games against Hungary, Italy, Spain and South Korea.</description>

The proceeds from the clinic were donated to aid in cancer research. Quinnipiac men's ice hockey head coach Rand Pecknold and several student-athletes conducted the clinic and then skated with the youth players and their friends and families afterwards. The event is part of Quinnipiac's Positive Play initiative, a program implemented by Quinnipiac Athletics to encourage community involvement by Quinnipiac's student-athletes.</description>

Freshman Connor Jones (Montrose, British Columbia) was named the program's Rookie of the Year while Eric Hartzell (White Bear Lake, Minn.) was awarded the team's 7th Player Award. Senior's Pat McGann (Evergreen, Ill.) and Sean Coughlin (Winthrop, Mass.) were honored with the Coaches' Award while Yuri Bouharevich (Montreal, Quebec) received the Academic Award after posting a team-high 3.88 grade-point average.</description>
