Final Regular Season Match-Up
Quinnipiac will face Rensselaer Polytechnic Instititute on the
final day of the ECAC Hockey regular season on Saturday, Feb. 26 at
the Houston Field House in Troy, N.Y. at 7 p.m. Quinnipiac is
coming off a 2-2 tie with No. 5 last night while RPI lost to
Princeton, 4-3. Saturday night's game has tournament implications
for both teams as the Bobcats are trying to lock up home ice in the
first round of the ECAC Hockey Championships and RPI is seeking a
first round bye.
Playoff Picture
Three teams, Union, Yale and Dartmouth, have locked up a first
round bye, while Cornell, Princeton and Rensselaer can also sneak
into the fourth spot to secure a first round bye. Quinnipiac can
finish no higher than seventh and no lower than ninth in the ECAC
Hockey final standings. The Bobcats will be home for the first
round unless they lose to RPI on Saturday, and Clarkson wins or
ties and Brown wins. Harvard, St. Lawrence and Colgate fill out the
final three spots and will travel for the first round.
