The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team will host Canisius for a two-game series on Saturday, Oct. 15 (4 p.m.) and Sunday, Oct. 16 (1 p.m.) at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center. The Bobcats enter the with a record of 2-1-0 overall with wins against Ohio State (4-3) and Holy Cross (5-3) in their last two games. Oct. 14-16 is Quinnipiac's Homecoming and Parent's Weekend.

The Last Time The Bobcats Were On The Ice
Five different Bobcats scored as Quinnipiac knocked-off Holy Cross, 5-3, at High Point Solutions Arena. Quinnipiac took a 2-0 lead into the second period, before giving up three unanswered goals to the Crusaders in the second frame. The Bobcats responded with three unanswered goals of their own to take a 5-3 lead.
All-Time Against Canisius
Quinnipiac is 13-7-4 in 24 games against Canisius since their first meeting on Oct. 30, 1998. Quinnipiac is 10-1-0 on its home ice, but will be facing Canisius for the first at the TD Bank Sports Center. Quinnipiac's only home loss to Canisius came on Feb. 18, 2005, 2-1, at the Northford Ice Pavilion. Last season, Quinnipiac downed the Griffins, 7-3, in the first of two games before leaving with a 2-2 tie on the following night.
Scouting The Griffins
The Griffins will look to replace their top three scorers - Cory Conacher, Vincent Scarsella and Eric Rex - who combined for 46 goals and 104 points last season. Freshman defenseman Ben Danford is the Griffins top returning scorer, after tallying two goals and 24 assists for 26 points in his first season. Preston Shupe (10-14-24), Kyle Gibbons (10-13-23) and Scott Moser (9-12-21) all return after hitting the 20-point mark last season.
The Last Time They Met
Last season, in Buffalo, N.Y., Quinnipiac defeated Canisius, 7-3, on Sunday night before the Bobcats managed to tie the Griffins on Monday. Jeremy Langlois scored twice in the first game, with goals from Kellen Jones, Zach Davies, Scott Zurevinski, Cory Hibbler and Connor Jones in the win. On the second night, Langlois scored again before Canisius took a 2-1 lead on goals by Scott Moser and Preston Shupe. A goal by Zack Currie with four minute to play forced overtime, where neither team could muster a goal.
The Bobcats At The Bank
Quinnipiac is 48-30-9 (.599) in 87 games at the TD Bank Sports Center, since its first game, a 7-0 win against Holy Cross, on Jan. 28, 2007. Quinnipiac's 100th Men's Ice Hockey Game at the TD Bank Sports Center will fall on Feb. 3, 2012 against Harvard.

Rand Pecknold enters his 18th year at Quinnipiac ranked 21st among all active NCAA Division I coaches and 58th all-time in career wins (319). His career winning percentage (.586, 319-217-55) ranks 87th all-time.
