Jeremy Langlois And Matthew Peca Earn ECAC Hockey/Fischer Hockey Monthly Awards

ECAC Hockey/Fischer Hockey Monthly Awards

Quinnipiac men's ice hockey stand-outs Jeremy Langlois and Matthew Peca were honored by ECAC Hockey with the first-ever Fischer Hockey Monthly Awards, for October. Langlois was named Player of the Month while Peca was named Rookie of the Month.

Langlois picked up where he left off after an MVP season in 2010-11.  Langlois currently leads the Bobcats and ECAC Hockey with 14 points and is averaging one point per game. The third-year Bobcats forward has also recorded a point in each game so far this season. Langlois had an assist in the Bobcats' season-opening loss to Ohio State before rattling in two goals in a 4-3 win against the Buckeyes on the following night. He then recorded his first career natural hat-trick, while also assisting on a goal, in a 7-1 win against Canisius. He has scored a goal in three of Quinnipiac's last four games and five of the Bobcats' eight for the season. Langlois is also +8 for the year.

First-year Bobcats forward Peca has enjoyed a solid first month in his collegiate career, totaling three goals and five assists for eight points, the most among all Quinnipiac freshman. Peca has registered a point in the last seven games, and a goal in three straight. Last week, Peca was honored with the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week award.

Clarkson's Paul Karpowich was also named the Goalie of the Month.
